Why the Catholic Church Loves Illegals

Because a dollar from a million people is still a million dollars!

That's the bottom line.

And it's the bottom line that has made the Catholic Organization, I mean "Church" abandon it's 'Obey the laws of the land" credo it had tried to hold onto since at least the 1960s.

Now the entire corporation from the Pope on down wants the "Dreamers" to stay and to bring over sus tio', tia', abuela y abuelo tambien!

The more the merrier since they're all Catholic south of the border since Hernan' Cortez kicked some Aztec ass back in 1520, tore down their blood soaked temples and put up blood soaked churches in their place.

A vast majority of the folks in Mexico don't have two nickels to rub together and have large barefoot families. I've seen it first-hand. People are still beating their clothes on rocks in the river and the burro's are so bony you can play their ribs like xylophones. A very good wage is still $50.00 a week American. The access to education for the Granjeros is next to nothing.

These are the people the Church wants most.

The Church's Influence is Waining

The fact of the matter is that here in the United States, people have caught onto these grifters that have wrapped themselves in religious garb. It's all about the money to them and so what if a bunch of kids got sexually molested back in the 1970s? The Church never wanted to acknowledge what was going on, never took a step against ANY of the perpetrators except to transfer them to a new location when things got too hot for them in the previous assignment and went out of their way to protect them when these predator priests were ever accused.

All this from an organization that wants to "help" people.

People have been turning away from the Catholic Church for some time or rather they've been driven away. The only people who go to church are old people who just go because they've always gone and it's too late for them to become anything else.

But the younger generation have seen the abuse and have seen through the contradictions and double standards and want no part of it. You want to make an Atheist? Send them to Catholic School!

The Church needs Mexican butts in the seats and peasant money in the basket. They won't do anything for these people except advocate for them to remain in the United States even though they have no right to do so. They did not go through the process of becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen like so many people before them. No, they jumped the line, violated the law and now the Catholic Church wishes to reward this behavior with citizenship. All because they need a new flock.

If I was a Catholic, I'd be pissed at this. If I was a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Mexico, I'd be doubly pissed.

But also the American people, many who are still Catholic and many who are not want the United States government to finally start enforcing our immigration laws. This is why Donald Trump is in the White House and Hillary Clinton is not. The American people are tired of paying for the support, feeding, education and health benefits of people who should not be in this country at all.

You cannot pick and choose the laws you want to enforce. Enforce them all or none of them but no nation can stand against an ocean of un-educated, un-vaccinated and un-committed people coming in and displacing citizen workers and using resources they never paid into while the people who do pay into these systems receive no benefit.

It make be ok for the Catholic Church to advocate violating the law but it's not ok for American Citizens who have grown tired of being marginalized while it all happens.

But the Church has never really been about religion, it's just the money that matters.

You, you don't matter at all.

Jeb Bush Exudes Status Quo

What makes anyone think anything is going to change in the United States if Jeb Bush is elected president?

And what will Mr. Bush's campaign be based upon? Jeb Bush the Reformer? Jeb Bush the Political Outsider? Maybe perhaps Jeb Bush for Change?

In a nation that is deeply divided between the takers and the taken, the private taxpayer and those at the public troth, how is this man in particular going to make anything different?

The answer is: He won’t.

They people who pay will continue to pay if not pay more and the people who take will relax, as comfortable as they can, in their knowledge that the support spigot will remain on.

The government propaganda machine is touting Jeb as The Moderate in the field. Propaganda outlets like Google News, Face the Nation, Reuters, PBS et al are saying that once Jeb Bush's record as governor come out and once The (little) People truly get to know him and become aware of all the good he has done for the state of Florida, they will take him as a serious and viable candidate.

A bell should go off in your head.

The last thing the country needs is a political dynasty. We're struggling with one right now and all American Democracy and freedom of the individual needs less of is more power-cult entities in the office of the President. Once the President transcends parties, and if the present Demi-God in the White House doesn't give you pause for thought in this regard, the system will be over and the will of the people to defend it will weaken to a much greater extent than it is now.

The government will fight to perpetuate itself and Congress will pretend to fight the president on his proposals, most recently the Immigration Initiative and the Iran Nuclear Deal and when they “lose” they will hold their heads up high and say “We tried!”

Did they now?

How is King Jeb the Third going to do anything about this?

He isn't but he’ll look good not doing it.

His sycophantic supporters and the government press will regal all us impoverished peasants at how Presidential he looks when we know they wish they could say Imperial. But that will come in time.

Jeb Bush will continue to draw his support, and he is the candidate with the biggest bank account, from big business which seeks political advantage over small businesses, craves low wage labor and covets the ability to shift the costs of this labor onto the communities they overrun rather than pay for it themselves. He will continue to choose the side of the public unions over the will of the people who pay their way. There is no reason, in a time where we should be looking for strength of conviction, that we will get any from this man.

The last thing this country needs right now is THE SAME.

So perhaps once again we who actually matter in this equation, since it's the money from the fruits of our labor in the greater proportion, that is funding this whole charade, will be left without much of a choice again this election.

Why vote for a Leftist in Republican cloth when you can have the real Leftist in a Democrat silk robe? It's either that or stay home.

That’s what happened last time with Mitt Romney. Had he been more conservative, had he been just a little less wishy-washy where he should have held a hard line, he may have actually won the election and would have been at this moment addressing the financial issues, the real issues that face the stability of the United States. But he wasn't and an estimated three million conservatives stayed home.

George Bush Senior reneged on his promise of No New Taxes. His son George Walker Bush spent money like a Sailor on Shore Leave and started the program of National Surveillance of U.S. Citizens and so what are we to expect from a Jeb Bush presidency given the chance?

I shudder to think

Jackbooted Police Attack Press in Ferguson, MO

The Press is outraged!
How ironic.

Visiting journalists have had teargas canisters shot at them, had real guns pulled on them , been shot by rubber bullets, arrested and released with no charges, been manhandled, shoved around and bruised, forced out of areas for their own “safety” and generally threatened and harassed as the enemy.
How did it come to this?

Perhaps it is because they ARE the enemy.
Isn’t this the same esteemed people of the press who have looked the other way and underreported the Obama administrations flouting of the U.S. Constitution?

Are these the same people who have attacked every Tea Party political candidate and orchestrated smear campaigns against the people of the Tea Party, regular working-class folks who sincerely have concerns about the power of our federal government, and branded them as “Kooks” in their left-leaning publications and jokingly referring to them as that homophobic slur “Tea Baggers”?
Could these be the same “Journalists of the People” who have never bothered to take to task the criminality of the National Department of Justice, repeatedly giving Attorney General Eric Holder a pass on his felonious activities such as running American arms to the Mexican drug cartels resulting in hundreds of deaths on the border including U.S. boarder agent Brian Terry and issuing orders to not deport illegal aliens? The same press corps that has not taken President Obama to task for not enforcing the nation’s immigration laws?

Is this the press corps that is now shocked to discover the same disregard for the Bill of Rights has been applied to them?
How pathetic.
In some degree the police are getting the chance to do what many taxpayers would have liked to do but I’m afraid that there is more to this action than a little comeuppance for our honored American press corps.

The tear gassing and manhandling of the press in Ferguson, Missouri  a small suburb of St Louis with a population of 21,203, will serve as a training ground for the future as our government ramps up their troops which used to just be the local and state police forces. Manuals will be written and future police training classes will be initiated in the art of "Handling the Press". But it will not stop there.

With the militarization of the world come the militarization of our nations police forces who now have a wide arsenal of weapons at their disposal including full body armor, night vision goggles, gas masks, stun grenades, semi-automatic shot guns, hollow-nosed bullets in their high-capacity 9mm handguns, fully automatic machine guns and armored personnel carriers with mounted machine guns.

The pictures coming out of Ferguson, MO right now with people standing with their hands in the air while police in military armored vehicles train machine guns at their heads is a most wondrous sight.

Now every American town can have their own little Tienanmen Square or Czech Occupation and finally get to know what it's like to be looking down the barrel of a loaded high-powered automatic weapon just like everybody else in the world has. That's a new experience for many U.S. citizens but one I'm sure they will take in stride like they have with everything else that's been going on in the country. Just pay your taxes and shut up and sit down.
Ferguson, MO looks to be a dress rehearsal for what awaits us all in this country after the shortages our governments “Borrow and Spend, Tax and Spend, Print and Spend” monetary and regulatory policies will bring if allowed to continue. They have made their power grab now let’s see if they can keep it. There will still be a vote come this November.

But the guns are just there to remind us all to keep in line.

Perhaps a bread line.

Has-Been Warmonger Republican Bashes Rand Paul, Tea Party

Former member of the President George W. Bush administration and interim ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton was quoted as saying that Ronald Reagan would be "rolling over in his grave" to hear Rand Paul praise him.

This is over-the-top grandstanding for the Republocratic Party on his part and he is, after all, a Republican Party loyalist. But his real point in the interview strikes home at what I feel has plagued Libertarians since our modern conciousness and that is: We just have a hard time expressing our core beliefs to the public.

I've heard Ron Paul stumble over the "So you want to legalize drugs, even heroin?" question many times. This is most likely a result of being called "nuts" over and over again for decades because up until recently most people actually thought the War on Drugs was working and making things better. Well we all know how that turned out. I've heard Rand Paul answer the same question with an emphatic "Yes".

There should no longer be any ambiguity as far as telling the world where a Libertarian's principles lie. At least we HAVE principles. And the world is coming around more to our way of thinking because, let's face it, they can see the failures of the Republocrats and the Demlicans. Our ideals, no, they are not perfect but they are far closer to what a free people need. Freedom works everywhere it is applied.

When it comes to Iran and Nukes. It's a hard question to answer on the grounds that our allies do not want Iran to start making Nuclear bombs. But it's going to happen. My answer to that question is: If Europe, Saudi Arabia and Israel do not want Iran to have The Bomb then they better get busy and do something about it.

Why is it up the the United States to bomb Iran? Because that is just what we do?

Or how about the UN? Phhhbt! I make joke! Man, I crack myself up.

They ALL have the bomb over there in case you haven't heard. France, Syria, Israel, Russia, China. Nobody is stopping THEM from doing something about Iran. It's their neighborhood.

As far as John Bolton is concerned, he has done some creditable service and is, for the most part, a conservative but he is part of the "old guard" of the Republican party that has become the biggest obsticle to the Tea Party and it's candidates. He is for the status quo of the Republicans which is now part of the problem rather than the solution.

The Left Wing press will have him on every screen since he's bashing Rand Paul and the Tea Party. He will willingly become their useful idiot because there's one thing both parties hate more than each other and that's the Tea Party. I don't ever have to listen to this guy again because I already know what he's going to say.

Iran is going to get the bomb because nobody is going to stop them. Niether party has done so up to now so how is a prospective candidate supposed to say he's going to bomb Iran when the present administration isn't going to bomb them either.

Bolton the War Monger just longs for the old days when we could just go in and bomb another country "because we said so." Well that was before we've wasted political capital, boatloads of taxpayer money and America's youth on wastesful "make work" wars for well over a DECADE.

Oh, and by the way, We're Broke!

Now we're going to bomb Iran? Get real. If we as a nation had kept our sword sheathed until we really needed it, we wouldn't be in this situation.

And THAT's a Libertarian principle.

The Government Empire Strikes Back

With the government shutdown it has become clear just how dangerous and vindictive our government has become.
By shutting down enterprises even remotely linked to the government in violation of the law and their leases, the government of the United States has shown it is more willing to punish its citizens than to listen to or even help them. This is no longer the point of their existence.

Government autobots have been given their marching orders and have carried them out to the letter in order to give the government shutdown more of an impact than it would have otherwise. They are trying to justify their existance since we know well more than half of them are not necessary. But they are now carrying on an aggressive campaign against the people who have the nerve to go to work every goddamed day to pay the taxes to pay their salaries. These are the acts of the truely depraved and desparate.

Perhaps this is how terror networks start. The government minions can just come and throw up a sign in front of your business and declare it closed and what are you going to do about it? There is nothing, now, that you can do about it except risk arrest and prosecution for trespassing upon your own enterprise.
This underlines an issue that has been griped about for ages in this nation: That you don’t really get to own anything anymore. Even though the businesses that leased the land from the U.S. Government have a legally binding lease, they were still shut down because the “landlord” simply decides to do so. The government is in violation of the law and of the lease they signed but so what? You’re out because “We Say So!”

But it is all in keeping with the growing trend in the government and it takeover of private enterprise and it’s intrusion into the comings and goings of law-abiding American Citizens.

The government’s spying, paranoia and militarization of local police forces should not be tolerated. Its actions to restrict access to public works and lands THAT THE PEOPLE HAVE PAID for should not be entertained or explained away.
The government is coming after us, the taxpaying U.S. Citizen and the shutdown only underscores its intentions and abilities to shut people out of the political process and participatory recourse.
But like every totalitarian regime, the most intense scrutiny and repression falls upon the free citizen and not the illegal, the immoral and the criminal. Police the good people and let the rest slide to impose terror and divisive anarchy upon the masses. This is the United States today.

But what can you, as a Citizen do?

If you aren’t willing or find it useless to join a Tea Party group you can still do other things to fight.
  • Don’t go back to government. Boycott it where ever you can and certainly stop giving them your time and your money.
  •  Skip your hunting or fishing license this year.
  • Check your W-2 and declare 1 or 2 if you’ve declared zero. This puts more money in your pocket and not the governments. Don't use the IRS as a savings plan.
  • Make plans for a modest Christmas with less spending.
  • Cross the border into a less taxed state for purchases.
  • Use Online Bill-Pay through your bank instead of using the U.S. Postal Service.
  • Avoid the Sales Tax whenever you can by using online secondary market tools like Craigslist.
Anything you knock off your spending also knocks off the tax that goes to the Town, State and Federal Government. It may be a little to you but it adds up. Reduce your "tax footprint".

Check this: There is a $10.00 tax in the city of Boston per car rental transaction. There is also a parking surcharge of $2.00 per day. Meals taxes can be upwards of 7% of the cost of the meal in any town in Massachusetts. Think about that when you're on your morning coffee run. Think! Gas is taxed at $ .42 per gal ($ .18 to the Feds). Hotel/Motel rooms are taxed at 8.75% in Boston.  It’s a $ 25.00 flat fee in NYC per night. Look up the rates on your local Department of Revenue website and see what their take is on your money.

This doesn’t mean going without, it means being wiser with a buck. You’re going to need it anyway in the future.

Refuse to participate in government. Don't cooperate. Skip the census, jury duty and don’t answer demographic questions from government on forms. Refuse to shake a politician’s hand when campaigning. You aren’t free and he’s only campaigning to get on the government gravy train. Don’t back these guys just because they say they’re on your side, ignore them all because, lets face it, they're lying to your face.
Our parents and grandparents sacrificed through the first Great Depression and World War II. They withstood shortages, quotas, alternate day purchases, gas rationing and the lack of goods to help the war effort, for years!

We, on the other hand, have experienced NONE of this and what we consider suffering and sacrifice these days is not having a good connection on our iPad or the cable is on the blink and we can’t watch The Game.
If you can’t manage to go without a fishing license for ONE SEASON or cutting cable or delaying the payments of your medical bills, esentially taking SOME kind of monetary action, then SIT DOWN and SHUT UP. If you are unwilling to cut back for even a little while then it’s obviously not important to you and perhaps you should just GO FISH.

Put your money where your mouth is. Don't pay for a government that abuses you. What good is complaining if you are unwilling to provide anything but Lip Service?
Live it. Tell your friends. Starve the Beast.

The Ever Expanding Internal Revenue Service

Everybody fears them and those who don’t are either a member of government or insane. To them you are guilty first and must prove your innocence. They will sweep your bank account without notice. They will scour your history if you should somehow unwittingly become their target.

Once you become “noticed” you are much like a bug under their magnifying glass when the sun is highest in the sky. They will fry you and keep coming back to fry you again and again for years after. Once you are behind, you will remain so because of their convoluted and incomprehensible array of rules regarding back interest that is so absurd that if your check is a day late, they will hit you back up for a day’s interest. Not a day late of delivery but a day late for THEM in processing the check. It’s what THEY say, not what YOU say. YOU don’t rate. YOU are only here to serve the STATE. Their hands are in all pies, yours, mine and our neighbors.

They are the United States Internal Revenue Service and they will hound you until you crack,  grab a gun and then they will shoot you down. It's not like it's never happened and it does happen.
This is the capability of this tool of the government. It is of no surprise that they have been targeting the Tea Party or any of the New Conservative, Patriot and even Religious groups since their job is to preserve the present administration.

Who? The Obama Administration? No, It's more than that. I’m referring to the latest syndicate of political/corporate power brokers that are presently running the country. THEM. The IRS gets their marching orders from more than this President of the United States. The people currently in power want no change in leadership. The Tea Party and other opposition groups are a THREAT. How dare you want to hold onto your own money!
So they send their IRS MINIONS after them. At first it starts quietly with a letter but as they start to track where all the organization’s money is, the ABA (American Banking Association) numbers, the account numbers, corporate office locations, they then begin to dissect your returns and surprise, they find SOMETHING! They then raid your offices and it will be all over the news and by freezing all your accounts, you can’t even buy justice in America. You will have to fight just to have access to your money in order to fight the rest of the charges. The stress alone will take it's toll.

What has become the most feared police force in North America was established back in 1862 when Congress created the Commission of Internal Revenue and gave it the power of seizure and prosecution.  This was made permanent by Congress in 1913 with the 16th Amendment to the Constitution.  They have been a bane to the American citizen ever since.
It’s not that we shouldn’t pay the government something since people throughout history have always paid either the King or local Noble for protection of self and commerce but it becomes a problem when they take too much and spend the money on buying influence with certain groups and to undermine others. This is not the role of proper government.

Say what you will about whether it was legal under the U.S. Constitution to establish an Income Tax or not, there it is and we as American Citizens are under its heavily armed Cuban heel.  Even with the latest revelations of wrong doing, nobody of any significance is actually going to lose their job over it. Nobody ever does in government anymore. The bleating sheep of the National Press will drown out any outcry and then they will broadcast a "look over here" issue that we all must pay attention to like Lindsey Lohan getting out of rehab or the latest Robert Downy Jr. movie. Nobody will care in a few weeks and we'll all go back to the same routine of paying the IRS demands without fuss and thanking God we didn't get the death penalty.
The significant thing that the income tax does for the U.S. Government is give it incredible access to almost endless wealth and credit. So much so that it is almost impossible to fight the government in the nation’s courts. The vast amounts of resources needed to battle the government in general and the IRS in particular is out of reach for the majority of American citizens. As the lines to be heard in America’s courts become longer, justice just keeps getting farther out of reach.  The tax code has become the baseball bat the government will use to beat you bloody.

And now the IRS has become the Club of Reckoning for the National Health Care Act. Their access to our personal information unhindered and unchecked. Not that the IRS didn’t already know everything about you, they now will have finger tip access to your personal medical records: What kind of Chemotherapy you are on, what pills you need to take and when you last had a thrombosed hemorrhoid lanced. They can audit you, your relatives, your doctor and the medical organization he works for. And they can shut you all off with the push of a button.
And it all just depends what organization you belong to. Is it a good organization or a bad organization?

Tea Party Candiate Under Attack by Republican Party

What else can you call this current full media assault on Todd Atkins, the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate out of Missouri but an orchestrated effort to blow a conservative Tea Party candidate out of the water?
The so called “Right Wing” radio assault teams have been mobilized. The conservative newspapers are furiously typing scathing remarks and The Republican hierarchy, which never supported his candidacy in the first place and to whom Todd Atkins owes nothing for his primary success, have come out in force to ask him to immediately step down as a candidate.
Sure he spouted some borderline mythology about rape. Did that mean he condoned rape? Yes, he’s whole heartedly against abortion like many people are, by the way. This push-back can be attributed to the all-in government sponsored “anytime is right for an abortion” crowd that seems to be all crowed into the Political Left.

Does main stream America see abortion as something the government should be sponsoring? We’ll find out in November since, thanks to the National Republican Party’s full frontal assault on Atkins has now turned abortion into a bigger issue than THE FAILING U.S. ECONOMY!
So much for staying on message when it comes to potentially getting rid of a Tea Party candidate.

Todd Atkins has had to withstand a blistering assault from his own party over his remarks and has since issued a public apology. But this isn’t good enough. Pseudo-conservatives like Senator Scott Brown, who, by the way, will not be getting my vote this November in Massachusetts, are stomping their feet about how “insensitive” and “thoughtless” Mr. Atkins comment was, like it’s the worst thing ever said by a politician? Are you kidding me?
No, this over the top posturing is not just about Todd Atkins comment. It’s about his Tea Party affiliation. He is NOT an old school Republican. He is NOT part of the problem. Todd Atkins won’t walk their walk and the Republican establishment knows it and it is their wish that he either step down or lose the election.

Yes, the Republican establishment would rather have a Democrat in the Missouri Senate than Todd Atkins. What else can a person conclude? This is because the current Democratic Party and the hopefully outgoing old-time Republicans are the SAME!
Not only is Atkins running against the Democratic Party, he's now running against the Republican Party too.
The Republicans have never accepted the Tea Party. They have never supplied good-faith support for Tea Party candidates and this current blitz on Todd Atkins is just the latest example. Yes, the stakes are high this November but not so high that a viable candidate must step down so that a lesser candidate can run. It makes no logical sense. It has seemed so easy to abandon Atkins candidacy for them. Why?

I don’t believe for a moment that the Republicans fear that Atkins remaining in the race somehow provides fuel for President Obama’s made up “War Against Women” or that Mr. Atkins Democratic opponent, incumbent Claire McCaskill, secretly strategized his assent to the Republican nomination because she felt he was easier to beat in November. This is non-sense. This is all about Atkins Tea Party affiliation and about nullifying the majority that voted for him as the Republican Nominee.
Todd Atkins has every right to remain in the race. Let the people vote and be heard!

Nine Myths About Libertarianism

Myth #1 Libertarians are Isolationists.

This is trotted out every single time some radio wag is asked to comment on either Ron Paul or Libertarians in general. Libertarians are decidedly not isolationists. What they call for is Free Trade and Non-Intervention in sovereign nations. How can you trade with another country if you isolate yourself? You can’t. It is apparent that the current regime that has been in power in the U.S for decades always wants to either buy influence or intervene overtly (militarily) or covertly (politically) with any country they choose to as a matter of policy. Libertarians find this to be a really bad idea in the long run and history proves this to be true.

Myth #2 Libertarians are Anti-War Peaceniks

Another fib boasted mostly by right-wing hawks. Libertarians believe in a time to fight and a time for war. Was it not that noted founding Libertarian; Thomas Jefferson himself who sent the Marines to smash the Barbary Pirates of Tripoli in 1804? Yes it was! Why did he do it? To stop them from interfering with U.S. shipping and commerce, that’s why. That’s the free trade part of Myth #1 for those not paying attention.

The difference is that Thomas Jefferson did not want to make an industry out of war which has been the case for the last oh, 50 years! I don’t know who made any money on Korea but the US armament factories have reaped a bundle ever since. The U.S. exports twice as many weapons of war as the second place country (Russia). Anybody born after 1956 will tell you that we as a nation have been in a virtual state of war since they’ve been alive: Korea, Vietnam, Iran, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Panama, Gulf War I, Gulf War II, the Arab conflicts and now Libya and beyond. No price can be put upon the agony these endless military conflagrations have caused.

These wars never end. They are no longer meant to be won. Libertarians see this as a colossal waste of lives and national resources. Free trade and non-intervention would have caused many of these conflicts never to be started. The U.S. has 700 military bases world wide. Why? Can’t Greece, Germany, Japan, South Korea and Europe take care of themselves? Libertarians think that it’s about time these countries take an interest in their own defense.

Yes, Libertarians prefer peace but if it comes time to fight, it will be time to win and the full force of a United States of America should be felt. Without the will to win, a war should not be undertaken.

Myth #3 Libertarians Want to Legalize Drugs

This is no myth. The Drug War is a pronounced and utter failure which has turned our inner cities into hell-holes and has corrupted our system of government. Nobody believes that it is working; nobody believes that we are better off since the drug war began (with the exception of FOX’S Sean Hannity). Time to legalize them and instead of paying Billions of dollars to government corrections and enforcement, we should instead turn this massive amount of money to treatment and education. I have a more detailed rant in the archives of this blog. It’s worth a look.

Myth #4 Libertarianism Have Visions of Utopia

We all know Utopia is not an option. There is no perfect world there is no perfect system. But neither is the welfare state! Libertarians know that welfare isn’t about compassion or helping people when they’re down. It’s about State Control. The State taxes, transfers and decides who gets the money. Welfare is a disincentive to work.  Self-Reliance is self-fulfillment. The people on the left are well aware of this yet they continue with this policy. Why?

Now we’ve always had to pay somebody for protection, either the King, the Overlord or whoever was in power at the time. These “taxes” paid for the protection of the “taxpayers” by the overall power of the Feudal Lord/State so nothing has really changed in that regard.

The problems come when the State becomes unwieldy, over bureaucratized, ineffectual at it’s basic functions and takes too much money out of the economy so that the people who pay start to falter. Libertarians believe that government has its hands in too many pies and is using taxpayer money to buy the vote. This is something to be stopped.

Myth #5 Libertarians are Anti-Tax, Anti-Government Nut-Jobs

Although I’ve met a few ah, “Overly Committed” folks who describe themselves as Libertarians, I can’t say there are any more of them than there are of Left-Wing Welfare State Loving Nut-Jobs or Right-Wing Warmonger Nut-Jobs. Probably less since Libertarians are a smaller group that the previously described. They do seem to stand out in a crowd though since they tend to dress in fatigues and either carries a big flag or “Don’t Dare Take My Gun” sign. God love ‘em. But by and large, Libertarians are just regular working people who are educated and in tune with how our current system of government is working. Libertarians know that wealth does not come from government and they tend to see the issues a little differently than those on the Left or Right side of the political spectrum. There is another way of looking at things.

Myth # 6 Libertarians are Racists

Libertarians love anybody with a job or who is looking for a job. As a matter of principle, they are decidedly color-blind. In fact, Libertarians feel that highlighting race at all in the way government functions ie: inquiring about race on government forms or societal segregation or the awarding of benefits based on race is bad policy. It is as Martin Luther King has said: “Judge not a person by the color of their skin but by the content of their soul.” Time to walk the talk like MLK did. I swear some of the scenes of our inner cities and the people who profit by “speaking for my people” should have MLK spinning in his grave at 100,000 rpm. Just like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

Neither side has taken any steps at ending this practice when they had their chance to do so.

Conclusion: Libertarians have well defined principles but individuals interpret them as they see them. Libertarianism is not really a party since it is made up of individuals in the pursuit of their own dreams. When there is commonality, there is consensus. We all want the same things: The pursuit of happiness, safety in our homes and businesses, to raise our children in a safe and open environment, to have a level playing field for business and to have equal opportunity for all to prosper. We cannot guarantee results or success but people deserve the best chance to succeed without government intervention.

Myth #7 Libertarians are for Big Business and are Anti-Environment

There is a big difference between free-enterprise and the collusion of large businesses with government to artificially procure for themselves a larger market share over their competition. Libertarians regard this collusion, as seen most recently with Bank of America, CitiBank and General Motors as Un-American and would be illegal in a Libertarian governed United States. Libertarians do not believe in Stimulus or Bail-outs. In fact, there would be no GBEs (Government Business Entity) in a Libertarian administration like Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. These were doomed to fail from the start since there was never any incentive to curb lending since the government guaranteed all mortgages they purchased. We still have yet to find out just how much Fannie & Freddie has spent in public funds but the final tally will be staggering.

Libertarians believe that by putting money back into the pockets of the people to spend the way they wish will we as a society have the opportunity to achieve the things we want in life. Not utopia, just better.

As far as the environment goes, we have had government watchdogs for decades and still the environmental disasters continue. Libertarians believe that what is bad for the environment is bad for business. Libertarians are as environmentally conscious as anybody else out there perhaps a bit more so since our natural resources are linked to our individual pursuit of happiness. But we also acknowledge that resources, especially renewable resources like trees are to be used and harvested. The setting aside of lands and forests to not be used or to prohibit the clearing of brush for the purpose or fire-roads and fire-breaks is counter productive. Nobody is for cutting old growth forest but trees are being cut down and replanted all the time. Excessive fees and over regulation of any industry will lead to illegal and unregulated activity such as wildcat clear-cutting of forest and illegal dumping in wildlife areas. We’ve all seen it. Libertarians believe that by making it easier to recycle materials and waste will the environment stay clean.

Myth #8 Libertarianism is a Cult

Although Ron Paul seems to have a cult-like following, so does President Obama. Is Liberalism therefore a cult? It’s hard to shake a person’s beliefs but at the very least Libertarianism is about the individual and not the collective. If I want what you have, I’ll work for it. I will not petition the government to pass a law to make you give up what you have for me. If belief in the individual’s ability to achieve and in the right of personal ownership is a cult then yes, Libertarianism is a cult. It is a cult of self reliance instead of the reliance on the State. It is freedom or at least the closest belief system to freedom. Libertarians believe they can provide for their own retirement better than the government can. They believe that they themselves know better than government what to do with the money they earn.  If the economy is indeed 75% consumer driven, then how come government is always taking money out of the hand of the consumer?

Contrary to popular belief, people got along just fine for centuries in this country without a Social Security system or a Graduated Income tax. You cannot get married today without permission from the State. The church can’t just marry you. That would be illegal.

Myth #9 Libertarians Are Against Assisting the Poor

There is more than one way to assist the poor. You can hand them a fish in the form of Welfare or you can really help them by having a job for them to go to.

Unemployment used to last 26 weeks when I started working. When did you get a job? When Unemployment ran out! Well now Unemployment never seems to run out. Some have been on extensions for 3 years. When’s that person going to find a job? When Unemployment runs out!

Libertarians also know there are many charities that help the poor. The biggest and most efficient in the United States is The Salvation Army. But they don’t give out checks. They give you three hots, a cot and work. You still have to earn it. The Salvation Army is by far more efficient with the money they take in than the government. And therein lies the answer.

Without the government confiscating so much of our cash, we would be free to give to the charity of our choice. Americans already are the most giving people in the world but with private charities we have the best way to get help to those who truly need it on a more intimate community level rather than a nameless, faceless state that doesn’t know who’s money they’re throwing around.
