Can China Oppress Its Way to Prosperity?

Remember Tibet? It used to belong to the Tibetans. Not any more. China took over. The outrage lasted minutes while Chinese policemen kicked protesters to death in the streets.

How about Taiwan. It's a sovereign nation, right? Not to China it isn't and they never stop threatening to take it over. By force, of course.

China's Claims

To determine ownership of a territory, China it seems merely has to claim it. "It's ours by right, stay off!"

And that's all their is to it. Tibet...is China's. The South China Sea, well, it has the word China in it, see? Therefore it belongs to China. Nobody else gets to use it. It's China's.

Taiwan is China's. Why? Because China says so!

Taiwan may have something to say about that. "No they don't, it's ours!"

Hong Kong wasn't China's for a long time. China was very different then. Different government, different economy and Hong Kong too is different, like a different country.

But China claims Hong Kong just the same.

Where do China's claims stop?

There's a rumor going around this country that China wants to go to the Moon just to see if the American flag is really there. If it isn't, China will claim the Moon too.

How Will the World React?

Hong Kong is, in my opinion, the last frontier of true economic freedom left in the world. A place where you can rent a storefront, put up a sign and call yourself a business. Very little red tape involved in comparison to say, anywhere in the United States. It's a city just teaming with commerce and ambition. Ambition for success and for something few on mainland China enjoy, Freedom!

But don't worry, China will fix that. They'll eventually kick their way in and crush the local pro-democracy lunatics, killing the most resistant and sending the rest to be re-educated or harvested or both. They'll then look to their European enablers for signs of disapproval.

But they won't see any.

I mean, what nation cut ties with China over Tibet? None. Nobody did. If they do the same thing to Hong Kong, will it score a ripple on China's economic radar screen? Will they pay a price?

Well, perhaps the UK may have had enough and actually speak up about what China is doing given it's past ties to Hong Kong but don't expect France, Spain or Germany to make much of a fuss. They all need the low cost manufacturing they've grown dependent upon. They're tied too tight economically to China to open their cringy yaps and do anything beyond a grandstanding speech or some-such.

To them, Hong Kong is just another Tibet; "Pass the Bearnaise Sauce will you, my Filet Mignon is not as moist as it should be." "Send it back Angela, the cook will make you another!" "Good idea Annegret, I'll send it back."

"Oh, those unfortunate people of Hong Kong." they will say. And that will be the end of it. It will take people marching in the streets of those nations to get a bigger reaction. But since it's only people getting killed and a major global economic engine being silenced and not something REALLY important like "Global Climate Warming Change", will they get much of a turnout?

China Roads

China is good at taking over. They've bought their way into Africa although there are rumblings from South Africa about the deal they've made with the Devil, but they'll all regret taking the money China dangles in front of the impoverished nations of Africa.

Nobody really TRUSTS China. They're serious as a heart attack and as funny as a crutch. They have a chip on their shoulder so big the Iranians can only look on in envy and they are out to pay back ALL the slights of history they feel have been directed at them because they are Chinese.

China now says, "If the world will not love us, by _________, (*whatever Godless Idol Chairman Xi worships) they'll fear us!"

And surely, where ever China goes these days, they make everyone around them nervous.

And they should be.

Tienanmen Square Redux

But China is at it's best at oppressing it's own. From the untold millions who were purged in the days of Mao to the extension of that control to the long segregated Muslim population. The control and subjugation of them and Christians too, is all just by rote these days. Nobody escapes and everybody is subject to social controls. The Muslims just get it worse, of course.

It's all about control. China controls it's population. Telling them what they can see, what they can say, what they can do and where they can go. In this fashion, the government can feel secure that they will not be overthrown. With the country contained, they will feel much more secure as they expand and try to take over the weaker territories nearby and give them the same treatment. And then, they surmise, they will expand from there spreading the subjugation model they've perfected at home.

The Question

Can China's economic business model sustain it's ambitions?

Already being challenged on the economic battlefield, China's weakness is evident. The other major nations of the world must keep buying their cheaper products and feeding the Dragon. If they should decide to go elsewhere, the Chinese Juggernaut could hit the wall.

But that would also help out the United States and President Trump. What to do, what to do?

What will it take for the other nations of the world to decide to stop buying Chinese goods?

If China should decide to go into Hong Kong with guns a-blazing, the reactions or lack thereof of the European nations will tell us a lot.

Never Forget

They were so colossal that they didn't even seem real. When seen from New Jersey, they were striking for their shear size and how they stood alone above everything else in a city of tall buildings. They were just big and square blocks but they were beautiful.

Just like all the souls that perished when they were destroyed.

When I see those images today, I feel exactly the same today as the day it happened.

I want to kill them all.

And we did that first time in Afghanistan. We killed plenty in a wide variety of ways. Then more came and we killed them too. And then they made more and we've been killing them ever since. The targets become more elusive and we become more adept at finding them. It's an ongoing battle that has changed the United States from a freewheeling democracy interested in personal freedom and how far an individual can go in life, into an armed camp brimming with costly defenses and increasing the misery index of every American. Such is our modern world of constant surveillance, wide-spread tracking and endless regulations. We used to lament that there were cameras everywhere and now we look for them everywhere to give us a sense of safety. Good luck with that.

The Twin Towers were attacked because they were the symbol of American commerce, American achievement and the freedom or our marketplace. That they were in New York City was fitting because NYC represents everything the country has to offer. And for the most part you can walk to it.

So after the Towers were destroyed by Muslim Terrorists, what does that self-absorbed lame-brain New York Mayor Micheal Bloomberg do? He turns their replacement into a stupid design contest. And the building that went up, The "Freedom Tower" looks absurd at best. It's shit.

And it only took 11 years to put it up! That's a year longer than it took to complete both of the Twin Towers.

They should have gone to city hall, gotten the old plans out of the basement and put the towers back the way they were in the same amount of time to put up.

THAT would have shown the people around the world who hate the United States for being the United States exactly how futile their efforts to destroy us was. But it didn't happen.

They did destroy us.

Now we have representatives in the United States Congress like Ilhan Omar, the US House of Representative's Jew-hating official from Minnesota who, for the life of them, will not mention what happened on 9/11 and by whom it came about. They will not acknowledge that so many people died who had nothing to do with their killer's zealous self-righteousness Islamic judgment.

And when they exhibit their callousness and disgust with the country they represent what happens? Why they are surprised by the fact that few Americans agree with them! Then they openly lament that it is THEY who are the victim of a terrible religious hatred. The majority of the people who agree with Representative Omar are the racist bastards who live in the 5th district in Minnesota and who voted her into office.

And the rest of them live in Washington DC.

We shall never accept such judgment or cynicism from anybody. Not from the former crazed mayor of New York City Micheal Bloomberg, not from the racist and America hating Rep. Omar and not from the Political Left in this country who would rather see our cities and towns over-run with the world's great unwashed than to see our own hard working, tax paying people who are not THEM succeed.

For all it's faults, the United States is still the most giving and benevolent society on the face of the Earth.

But you won't hear that from Representative Ilhan Omar or her ilk.

Milquetoast Ryan Abandons Party Conservatives

I guess Mr. Ryan, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, thinks this presidential election is all about himself. Perhaps he thinks himself alone in his feelings. Or perhaps he is just favors someone else entirely.

So today Paul Ryan is appalled. Yes that's right, he's appalled by what he has heard. He just can't believe his ears! He was most upset and saddened by the news that...

Donald Trump apparently likes Pussy.

Ultimately, Mr. Ryan didn't take this news well and now he has announced, to the glee of the Political Left, that he just can't bring himself to support Donald Trump, his party's Presidential Nominee and will now only focus on not letting Hillary Clinton take the Presidential Throne with a Democratic Congressional Majority.

As if she'll even need one at that point.

Paul Ryan, in exercising his self-elected brand of voter nullification, has forgotten the stakes of this election. He has overlooked or perhaps he just can't see from his high perch that the economy is turning to shit. That good full-time jobs are dwindling, that the Affordable Healthcare Act is un-affordable, that millions of people are receiving food stamps and that many American workers are living pay-check to pay-check.

Perhaps he has not pondered the Supreme Judicial Court nominee waiting to be confirmed.

Or perhaps he has a plan of his own.

If Trump should lose this election, Mr. Ryan is going to lose the majority speaker-ship within two years anyway. It won't matter a hill of beans what he does after this. The Republican party deserves to lose the majority in the House. They have done nothing to hold onto it. They've abandoned their candidate and they have abandoned their electorate. What more can they do to undermine their cause?

Actually to say they have abandoned Donald Trump is to imply that they had ever given him anything but grudging acknowledgement as the Republican Nominee.

But Donald Trump is where he is because most people voted for him. This is why we hold elections. They didn't vote for smarmy Ted, the landed and entitled Mr. Bush, the decidedly un-dynamic Mr. Walker or that idiot Kasich ,

Trump didn't buy his way to the nomination, he was endorsed by a large group of people who represent the most conservative section of the Republican Party. Even though a majority of them are registered as Independent, they vote Republican. And for decades they have waited for a real conservative candidate.

Only to now be told that Conservatism is no longer allowed in the Republican Party.

In this election cycle, Donald Trump has electrified the Conservative Voter. Across the nation more people have voted in the primaries than they did the last two election cycles. He has gotten out the vote and he will continue to get out the vote. Whether he wins or not is a big unknown at this point but Mr. Trump has mounted an unprecedented campaign.

A campaign against not only the Liberal Democratic Party but also against the Liberal Republican Party.

But a lot of hard working people, people who pay their taxes and aspire to do the right thing, are pulling for Donald Trump. They feel, rightly, that many of the ideals they believe in are what he believes in also. Ideals that they see, more and more, the Republican Party abandoning. They want somebody to stand up to the special interests and big government that does not take their opinions and their rights in regard. They feel they have lost their voice in government.

And Paul Ryan has confirmed that they have.

The Constitutional Disconnect Over Anwar al-Awlaki (part II)

Under the Freedom of Information Act, although the all-important reasoning behind the decision is still redacted, most of the memo associated with president Obama's order of the drone strike that killed Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Muslim extremist and U.S. citizen, has been released.

We now know that it was a person named David Baron, then the acting head of the Justice Department's Office of Legal Council. HE is the one who concluded that killing al-Awlaki would be legal for the U.S. government to carry out based on the conclusion that al-Awlaki's citizenship did not protect him from the use of force abroad. Mr. Barron was assisted by another lawyer for the Justice Department, a Mr. Martin Lederman. We only hear their names now because they are just a small part of the vast unelected nameless-faceless hive of bureaucracy that is writing law over the citizens of this country.

Now they are passing death sentences and we didn't even know it until now.

Neither of these people were judges. They were lawyers, lawyers attempting to justify the lawlessness of the actions of their President and their government.

Both the 5th and 14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution address the right of a U.S. Citizen to the Due Process of law. In a nutshell: If an individual is facing the lose of his life, liberty or property, the law of the land requires that individual receive notice, representation, a hearing and most importantly, to be judged.

So there we have it. Mr. Baron, Mr. Lederman and Mr. Obama: Judge, Jury and Executioner. All done with the sweep of a pen. No hearing, no jury and no lawful judge.

Killing Anwar al-Awlaki going on three years ago was an unlawful act and has set a dangerous precedent for U.S. citizens tomorrow.

It is now PROVEN that our leaders had abandoned the founding principles of their Country, their Constitution and their Faith in a desperate attempt to reverse the the rise of opposition to and the impending collapse of our despotic and destabilizing interventions into the affairs of sovereign nations in the Middle East.

It has all proven to be false and useless in the long run.

(original text below - originally published March 5th, 2013)

"I will speak as long as it takes, until the alarm is sounded from coast to coast that our Constitution is important, that your rights to trial by jury are precious, that no American should be killed by a drone on American soil without first being charged with a crime, without first being found to be guilty by a court.” - Rand Paul

My copy of the U.S. Constitution makes no distinction where an American citizen may be whether it be on American soil or in Yemen, they are still entitled to the same protection under the law.

Everybody applauded when a drone strike killed Anwar al-Awlaki, an American Citizen, in Yemen without any due process of law. Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Mitt Romney and Texas Governor Rick Perry, all expressed praise for Obama’s drone strike on what actually turned out to be the U.S. Bill of Rights.

President Obama signed an order in 2010 that put al-Awlaki on the governments “Kill or Capture” list but the President had no Constitutional authority or legal precedent to sign such an order. He just ordered it and almost everybody in Congress, went along with it.

It was also said many times by the so called right wing television and radio wags that al-Awlaki had forfeited his rights under the Constitution by taking up arms against the United States. No he didn't, he couldn't. But the comfortably established, well paid and certainly well fed public face of American Conservative thought had NO PROBLEM with the killing of al-Awlaki and openly said so.

And here we are.

So with the announcement by The Government that these very same drones are going to be deployed right here in the good old US of A and whoa, NOW it’s a problem!

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, that figurehead for the Department of Justice, has sent a letter to U.S. Senator Rand Paul stating that he can see a legal justification where these drones could be brought to bear upon other American Citizens right here on U.S. soil. Well what did you expect?

But how can they do such a thing? We are American Citizens, what gives them the right? Gee, let’s think about that one, shall we?

You can't pick and choose which part of the Bill of Rights you wish to believe in and when you wish to believe in it. You take them as a whole or you take none of them. It's a document for all U.S. Citizens and not just a few. And good deeds, like nice speech, needs no Constitutional protection.

But that didn’t give pause to the people who are now suddenly outraged about the deployment of drones on the North American continent. They see no connection between the death of al-Awlaki and the possible use of drones in the U.S. for the very same reason.

It's this kind of Wrong Thinking that has fostered the erosion of our civil rights and emboldened Government to reach for more power. What if the government now declares a certain person or group of people to be in "Revolt"? Who shall be the next to forfeit their rights by opposing Government?

But don't worry; it can't happen here, right?

The Vote Has Been Undermined

The people who support the Political Left in this country don’t seem to care that their future is becoming “less than bright” under their incumbency. All they really care about is keeping control. If that takes the corrupting of the voting process so be it!

By trying to legitimize illegal aliens so that they can become legal voters, by fighting the logical voter ID laws implemented by individual states and by allowing “Motor Voter” and “Same Day Voting Registration” and by using the power of the Internal Revenue Service to target conservative and Tea Party groups to deny them access to legal fund-raising activities, the Obama Administration seeks to consolidate power at the national level and to dictate national mandates over the Constitutionally protected sovereignty of the individual states and the citizens of the United States.

The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), also known as “motor voter,” promotes easy voter registration at motor vehicle, welfare and other state and local government offices. Voters can apply in person or by mail, and, until recently, the federal application required no proof of citizenship. So while you are getting your illegal license to drive, you can also register to vote. This was a bad idea from the very beginning inviting fraud at the registration level.

Fighting Voter ID Laws

Even when a state passes a Voter ID law that offers registered voters ID cards FOR FREE, a federal judge invariably strikes the law down on the grounds that it discriminates against minorities. Even when everything is provided for without cost, these laws cannot be allowed to stand since the status quo of the governments organized fraud must be maintained.

Buying the Vote

By expanding the welfare and food stamp rolls and essentially making it circumstances where people need the assistance happen, people will be more likely to vote for their “supper”. The Mayor of Boston always knew where his voting block lived: The Projects. This is why the incumbent Mayor would make sure that there were vans available to drive registered voters to the polls on Election Day. This is why winning the race for Mayor in Boston is a job for life.

Enter the IRS

It is now clear that the President’s administration personally ordered the targeting of Conservative and Tea Party groups applying for non-tax status to be denied and delayed the granting of their legal rights so as to keep them from making a difference in the last presidential election. The steps that were taken to implement and then later to divert attention to them were both blatant and criminal. Also IRS employees openly campaigned for the re-election of President Obama while at work and used IRS (taxpayer) resources to do so. This is also criminal behavior. But will anyone even lose their job over it?

Amnesty the Death Knell

This will essentially just legitimizing the on-going voter fraud organized by the Obama election machine anyway since it isn’t like they haven’t been voting right along aided and abetted by their local governments especially in California, an important state because of its majority of Electoral College votes. What we will ultimately get if this happens is our new “Citizens” will have all of the rights and none of the responsibilities of citizenship. They will get to vote but they won’t want to register to pay local, state or federal taxes and will most likely continue to live outside of the mainstream for this purpose since, rightly, who in their right mind would want to sign up to pay taxes? They currently have the best of both worlds. They have jobs, benefits by way of their taxpayer funded community services and pay nothing into the system. What could possibly go wrong there?

Students Vote for their Own Demise

The voting laws for students are quite interesting. Even if you are from out-of-state, you, as a student, can vote in the state you attend college. The youngest voters are usually the most liberal and driven by ideology. That in itself is not a bad thing but because they need no legal residency to vote in the state they go to school in, they are a valuable voting block for the Left in states, like New Hampshire, that usually vote Conservative.

New Hampshire also has Same Day Voting Registration which allows a person to register to vote, and then vote on the same day. This is a really controversial law since it has been reported that large numbers of voters who registered the same day could not be found later when sought to verify their residency.

Government studies say that voter fraud is minimal. Independent and opposition studies declare that voter fraud is rampant. As bad as Obama has been during his first four years, he could conceivably have been re-elected based on his rabid cult of Personality with his devout followers but it seems he still had plenty of help from the government agencies under his direct control and his political machine that sought to exploit every loop-hole and friendly law at their disposal.

But what did they win?

The dwindling resources and opportunities have left our liberal voting students with only jobs at “Pizza 2 Go!” Few recent graduates are doing the jobs they went to school for and they are still responsible for their often staggering student debt. A vote for Obama is a vote for Prosperity? Not so much.

The cost of the Affordable Care Act has without a shadow of a doubt kept companies from hiring people. Without the expansion of enterprise, people don't move up. If people don’t move up, not only will there be no room to get into a company, these people won’t be buying a bigger house or a nicer automobile. This effects the recent college grads the most since an economy that crawls offers them few opportunities.

When times like these happen, people tend not to move. They will stay in their crumby job because a “bird in hand” is better than the prospect of not working out someplace else or not having the seniority in the event that their new job has a lay-off. They won’t make big ticket purchases out of fear and make do with what they have and many have put off retirement. This all adds up to less jobs for today’s college graduate.

The welfare people are still poor but comfortably so and will be reluctant to get off of that gravy train for fear they can’t make it in the real world and they’d probably be right so they stay. This is the life, right?

When the cities eventually have to file for bankruptcy, all union and state employee contracts become null and void. The cities and towns are currently trying to stave off such a result by ratcheting up property tax rates everywhere but eventually people will be either run out of town or revolt. Then what?

Even publicly funded groups like National Public Radio are feeling the pinch. There is less government money in their budget and less private donations coming in. Nobody escapes.

The Political Left has won a world of SHIT because even though they clearly know what would work to bring the economy back, they would rather control a dung heap than live in a good economy under a different leadership.

This is the nation they prefer, do you?

Sebelius Resigns in Disgrace

And what else can we say about this Sociocrat? She is a reprehensible person carrying out a reprehensible act for her power grapping reprehensible bosses. And she choked on it. Call it fate or karma but not only did Kathleen Sebelius not know what she was doing, she didn’t care. If she cared one whit about the public trust or the American people, she wouldn’t have gotten involved with the Obama administration in the first place.  Only a power hungry sycophant would have stood up before Congress and the American people trying to convice us that dog food was filet mignon. And she did it with unflinching fealty even though in her heart of hearts she knew it was all a Dog and Pony show for the rubes.
Everything the Obama Regime has implemented has crashed and burned. The economy, the green industry subsidies, the Orwellian named Affordable Care Act, the half-assed foreign policy, just everything!

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is the poster girl of failure. Since nothing is going to happen to her anyway since she will walk away with millions of dollars of taxpayer money, she should still be pilloried in the public eye for her lack of understanding, her profound rigidity, her unquestioning loyalty to her seditious political party and president, her lack of communication and social skills and now, finally, her lack of grace. She must have been weaned on a pickle.
But when one failed bureaucrat falls, another ambitious socialist loyalist will take their place. There are others anxiously waiting in the wings just chaffing to step up and really show the boss how to put the screws to the stupid people, the doubters, the resistant.

But it’s really all for naught. There isn’t enough money to keep the ACA afloat no matter who they rob or which funds they secretly divert. Just as its model, Massachusetts “RomneyCare” system has never been in the black and has been secretly sucking funds out of the general and highway and infrastructure funds ever since, the ACA will just be a cancer on the American economy like it has been these last four of years. Nothing will be improved, no one will be saved.
There will need to be a police state to get these social systems to run. There will need to be wealth confiscation to keep the wheels of oppression humming. There will need to be subjugation of the masses to force compliance if only for the short term since ultimately there will be no saving these programs or the economy that it will have sucked the life out of.

And the worst thing about it is that these people pushing for it, the slaves who have learned to love their slavery, won’t understand why they failed. They will have no clue. There will be no introspection, no self-analysis, no reflection on their actions. They will just merely blame someone else for this and try again. This is their nature. They will work twice as hard to have someone else take care of them. They are slaves.

It has recently come to light what we have already known. That Medicare is fraught with corruption and political patronage! We know that all these programs have for too long taken resources from the productive to redistribute to the less productive and the downright unproductive to the point where the unproductive segment of the population has grown and the productive have not. This inversion of the pyramid has grave consequences. You don't have a right to take the fruits of another person's livelihood. And government does not have the right to give your labor away without just compensation.
Healthcare, like education, is not a right. It is not an inalienable right, it is not a human right, it is not a God given right. If there was any human right involved I suppose it would be that parents should have the right to educate their children any way they see fit and to be free of Federal intervention in their children's education. The Federal Government, as outlined in the U.S. Constitution, has no mandate or obligation to administer neither healthcare nor education. Yet here they are buying their way in and inventing problems to solve so they can invent more problems to solve. And by example of international and national test scores and news from our bigger cities like Manhattan, Philadelphia, Washington DC, LA, Boston and all of other major cities across the country, nationally administered public education is an abject failure with families fleeing the city schools for the less oppressive sububurban and private schools in any manner that they can. The government and it' educational unions are fighting tooth and nail to suppress school choice via the school voucher system and charter school programs that would give equal footing for those less able to afford better educational opportunities. None of this is a secret.

So using education as the template, we are to trust the Federal Government to adequately administer healthcare? Who but only the product of government schools would think this is a good idea?

The government is only good at making one product: Poor Entitled People (PEPs). And their success in this endeavor is our demise. Make the slaves love their slavery, have them march in the streets and yell for it at the top of their lungs. Let the government bribe them and bring them across the border to be their thugs and run rampant on every street in America. And they will fight and they will win the only thing they know: How to be poor entitled people.
And afterwards they will never be anything else.

As Obama Wings It on Health Law, A Weary Nation Sighs

He can delay it all he wants, no economy in the world is ready to sustain government directed Socialized Medicine. Just the spectre of it's impending implementation has sent thousands to the unemployment line and has created a food stamp class of working poor.

It smacks of the old Soviet Union where they were always waiting for the economy to be strong enough to handle their commumist initiatives. But it never was.

It's almost like the Obama administration thinks that if it can get this Albatross off the ground then somehow it will stay aloft on its own. That trick has never worked and it will fail again. In fact, it already has failed it's just that these dictatorial types in Washington these days just can't manage to let a bad idea go. They will sacrifice the nations economy and it's citizenry to try to save their half-assed national takeover. And what do they get to lord over and dictate to? A Welfare State, WooHoo! That's the part I don't get; Who wants to be known throughout history as the lord and master over a failed Socialist State? The Age of Pericles this isn't.

But what I think the real plan in all of this might be is to force the countrys best and brightest workers into big corporations for their livelihoods and survival and the rest can just lump it in the junkyards of the nation. The Obama regime is crushing the small business owner under it's corporate-loving, tax-loving, regulation-loving Cuban Heel. It's driving up the cost of doing business, any business, to the point where only the large corporations can either pay the freight or can get a pass on it all together. And for the most part they are getting a pass.

This is because thousands of individual small businesses cannot combine their political clout or nor can decide even where best to place their resources to buy influence in government like a big, nameless, faceless corporation can. Large corporations with boards of directors, anonymous to you and I on the ground, can weild large sums of money and put it to good use in one collective objective to gain favor for...The Corporation. Small businesses do not have the organizational wherewithall to accomplish this. Thus they cannot buy the favor of government like a big corporation regardless of the fact that small businesses employ the majority of Americans in this country and always have.

So while more and more people shutter their own businesses and empty their storefronts, they turn to big businesses for their living. There is no other place to go now that they've been put out of business by the policies of their very own government.

So now these big businesses can pick and choose who they want from the hords of these educated unemployed. They know you have to go to them, that the deck is stacked in their favor. But do they want you or should they go for the H-1B guest worker? The mind boggles.

This will continue until we can't even afford a Happy Meal never mind an iPad. Where will the revenue come from then, a printing press? Tried that one already.

Barak Obama has continued to improvise a way to make his unworkable schemes work. He has delayed and put off and revised until the right time. But there is no right time. But there is no way to do it. He only has ideology as his refuge and his Communist minions as his solace and that isn't going to put Doctors in offices and people back to work. The only way to do that is to quit robbing the average American Citizen. But he can't do that. How else is he going to pay for all the good he's doing us?

As the weeks and months drag on until the next presidential election, we are stripped of our optimism that anything is going to change. We can only now hope to hold onto what jobs that we have left and the money that the government lets us keep. We will not buy what we like but only what we need and hold onto what we can until the day we too are thrown out of work.

It's all so tiresome, so predictable and it was all preventable.

NSA Searches, Big Government & the 4th Amendment

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the person or things to be seized.”

The NSA, as an agent of the law, is bound like any other, to adhere to and uphold the Constitutional protections outline in the Bill or Rights. Without the Bill of Rights, the U.S. Constitution would not have been adopted by the States and therefor e is the lynchpin of all it stands for and the modern structure of the United States of America. To think otherwise is to ignore history and reality.

The whole idea of the term “Probable Cause” has been that authorities have to prove adequate reason to arrest someone or conduct a search, or seizure of their property. Probable Cause is required to be declared in a document where the facts for the arrest or search are detailed and a judge must agree, even if this step is a matter of course, for a warrant to be issued. These facts must be specific and not based on a “hunch”.

Now does any of this sound like what is going on?

Is the possibility that “Everyone could be a criminal.” a good enough excuse or that “it’s for the good and protection of the country.” when it clearly is not. However, it IS good protection for the preservation of the status quo of Big Government.

Does anyone believe, in light of the Internal Revenue Service scandal regarding the targeting of opposition groups and individuals for audit, denial of due process and exemption approval and the sharing of private tax information with the ruling party members that the NSA would NOT be called into service to listen in on and provide additional surveillance of these people?

And so this vague and general reason for the NSA listening in on conversations and sweeping and storing phone data and the ability and execution of reaching into a citizens computer records is a clear violation of the truths we hold as self-evident: It is wrong.

The NSA, thanks to Edward Snowden, has been revealed as yet another tool of the Authority State.

The current government and its agents the NSA and the IRS are acting in the unconstitutional exercise of authority.

This harkens back to the British “Writs of Assistance” exercised in 1761 where an officer of the British custom houses court could walk into any house and search it for smuggled goods without specifying the house or the goods. What is the difference between then and now except the means of the search?

The protection of the 4th Amendment is not limited to one’s home but extends to one’s personal effects and papers where ever they may be. It does not mention “telephone” for obvious reasons but what is stored on today’s personal communication devices of only which part of is a phone these days should obviously be regarded as “your papers”. And in this world of converged networks where your personal computing device whether it be your laptop, tablet computer or your smartphone, you have a Constitutional protection from intrusion into your personal effects.

This is important to note because this amendment is specifically believed to have come from an incident when the controversies between England and the Colonies were reaching confrontational proportions whereby certain prominent opposition colonists were targeted for prosecution by the English state. Sound familiar?

Our ancestors didn’t bust their asses to come here to be held to an allegiance with the government for their sustenance, livelihood and well-being. They came here for the opportunity, the chance, to make the most of themselves in a free market of ideas and industry and to carve out a life of their own, free of an overbearing presence that dictates their behavior and customs. They had lived without the freedom of worship; they had lived without the right to be private in their homes and their affairs and without the protections from unreasonable searches and seizures. The challenge is what to do about these rights being ignored.

This is not a case of the Government preserving itself, this is a clear attempt at one party seeking to hold power into perpetuity and subverting the process of purging and renewal that keeps this country growing and going forward. Should this succeed even in the short run, stagnation and decay shall follow.

It is ironic that these United States, a country that has stood as a symbol of freedom and liberty throughout the world attempts to secure itself by rescinding the very statutes that made the nation what it was.

Hospital Code of Silence

The case of David Kwiatkowski, the cardiac technologist who was recently convicted of infecting a total of 48 people so far, patients in hospitals in New Hampshire, Kansas, Pennsylvania and Maryland where he worked, with hepatitis C has brought to light an aspect of America’s politically correct and legally confused healthcare establishments.

This man, an intravenous drug addict, worked in a total of 18 hospitals across the country and from at least 4 of them that we know of, was fired for drug abuse and theft. Did any of these 4 hospitals call the police and have him arrested? Bet they didn’t. They let him walk out the door knowing he was a liability and an accident waiting to happen…to somebody else.

And did any of the hospitals he applied to for jobs afterwards check his references or call his previous employer? If they did, the chances are that all they got were the dates of his employment.  “Mr. Kwiatkowski worked for St. Lady of the Consumption Hospital from such and such a data to such and such a date.” And that’s all the information their HR department can legally provide. They can’t legally say; “Well he was stealing drugs so we fired him.” Because heaven forbid the guy sues them because he can’t find a job. No, that’s more important to the hospital’s bottom line than either having the bum arrested or telling a prospective employer that they should take a pass on this guy. It’s only a HOSPITAL after all, what could possibly go wrong?

I bring this up because of a conversation I had with a person who’s nephew is a registered nurse and also a drug addict. He has also been fired from two hospitals for stealing drugs. He is currently working at another hospital in the same city.

He is also an accident waiting to happen. But because nobody has taken any steps to either have him arrested which would give him a legal paper trail to follow AT LEAST, or attempted to have his nursing license taken away, this man is free to possibly infect people in his care with lord knows what.

There are probably a couple of thousand David Kwiatowski’s out there working in America’s hospitals. These are people who know that nothing is going to happen to them if they get caught stealing drugs.  The worst thing that happens is they have to go work someplace else. Just like the hospitals that enabled Mr. Kwiatkowski to keep moving from hospital to hospital to spread his disease.

And it was all preventable.

Had some hospital Human Resources person spoken up or if someone had the sense turn this guy over to the police, this wouldn’t have happened. But since the bottom line apparently trumped their common sense, we get the suffering of his victims and their families. These people should fry along with Mr. Kwiatowski.
It's a matter of trust. Trust in an institution that has taken an oath to "Do no harm" or is it just the Doctors who have to pay attention to that one?

But no worries folks, hospitals also give the same silent treatment for bad Doctors who they simply just ask to leave with no questions asked.

I hope that Kwiatowski’s previous employers are held accountable for withholding what they knew about him. They must share the responsibility for doing nothing until it was too late and having the knowledge that they could have done something to prevent it. I hope these people know it and have to live with it.

It’s time hospitals stepped up and start protecting their patients to the level that they protect their bad employees.

Isn’t that what they’re in business for?

When Governments Try to Create Markets

It always ends in failure.
When the government decides there is not enough of something and gets involved in its manufacturer, sale and distribution, what soon will follow is Waste, Financial Loss and Corruption.
Example #1: Ethanol

George W. Bush, that Leftist spendthrift in a Republican cloth coat, decides to boost the agricultural industry by requiring the combustible derivative of corn, Ethanol, be a part of ALL gasoline sold in the United States. What a great idea! First the farmers will have a market for their corn since now we HAVE to have a percentage of corn squeezin’s in the nation’s gas tanks. It’s a Biofuel so it will be good for the environment, right?
Well the problem with corn as a crop is that it beats the crap out of the soil and requires intensive fertilization and attention. It’s not a cheap crop to grow. But the government is driving the bus on this industry and so set a very good price for what it will pay for Ethanol. It’s a higher price than the market would pay otherwise. But what the hey, it’s not THEIR money the good Senators and Representatives are playing with, it’s TAXPAYER money and who knows better than Congress about what to do with THAT when there are votes to buy from the Biofuels lobby, the Agribusiness lobby and the Environmentalist lobby even though NONE of them would ever think of voting for a candidate with an “R” by their name BUT they will gladly take the money. Thanks George!

So what happens? The Corn Boom literally caused an environmental disaster!
The fertilizer and insecticide run off from all the land that was thrown over to corn production has been killing our waterways. Land that was not a profitable environment for farming now becomes fields of corn.  If you are a farmer, what now becomes your motivation? “Why am I growing wheat when the government is paying so much for corn? Why am I dealing with dairy cows when the government is paying top dollar for corn?” etc.
Corn is now grown on over 400,000 farms across the nation making the U.S. the number one corn producing country in the world.
But is the nation any cleaner?  That’s a NO. Has the economy been improved by this government intervention in the marketplace? Again that’s a NO. Most of us don’t get to witness the areas of destruction that happens in the nation’s bread basket, and we don’t know what goes on when areas of an industry are never created. We just see the price go up on a gallon of milk or on a loaf of bread but we don’t know why.  Well, this is why.
Example #2: Clean Energy

When there is the Alternate Energy industry. This is an industry with more good intentions than demand behind it. There are many people who like the idea of using solar power and wind energy and in some places it is very practical like the “Cabin in the Clouds” on top of the windiest place on Earth, New Hampshire’s Mount Washington, where solar and wind power is the only source of electricity. But mostly solar and wind power has been a cottage industry since the solar panels, wind turbines and especially the batteries are expensive, providing the user with no monetary savings and the manufacturer with little or no profit.
Enter the U.S. Government!
With its subsidies, tax breaks and outright massive loans to their friends and lobbyists, the Federal government has injected heaping wads o’ taxpayer cash into this industry which have erected big manufacturers of solar panels, wind turbines and high-stress batteries almost overnight. And almost as quickly these manufactures are tanking, filing for bankruptcy protection and taking all that “investment” money with them. You’d think it was the 2007 housing crash all over again.

By forcing automobile manufacturers to make electric cars that NOBODY wants and that can’t function to an enth of the ability of an internal combustion engine, the government has attempted yet again to make a market where none existed.
Who wants a car that has a range of less than 100 miles per charge, takes hours to replenish that charge, has a very expensive and highly toxic battery which is fully 1/3 the cost of the entire automobile, and even with massive subsidies still costs $40,000.00?  I'll take a show of hands...anybody?
And if you live in New England or worse, the Midwest, where it’s snowy, blowy and friggin' cold all Winter, the range is reduced dramatically by a force no government can legislate, PHYSICS! Batteries just don't perform well in cold weather.
Then there is that little problem of electric cars BURSTING INTO FLAMES.  No problem, we’ll fix that issue eventually, hop in!

This massive “Pay for Influence” racket is a gamble governments make to try to stay in power. Other industries that could have used that money, profitable industries, never got to see it because it was siphoned away from the buying public in taxes and then squandered on a useless commodity that people wouldn’t buy on their own. This is the insidiousness of government intervention in the marketplace.
This also causes a slippery slope for Government since once the effects of their bad policy become evident; there is no stepping back because the groups whose pockets they’ve lined with money now become the enemy, vowing to fight to keep their favors. Even if they do try to pull out of the mess they've made, the markets will be affected by the sudden pullout of funds. Corn prices would plumet to it's actual market rate and corn farmers take the hit until the market can regain it's natural balance.

Another clear example would be the current QUANTITATIVE EASING being applied by the Federal Reserve. If they should suddenly stop buying those Billions of dollars of bonds each month, the Stock Market, being dependent on that ready cash, will have a deep adverse reaction in the short term.  It's quite a hole the Federal Reserve has dug for the financial markets since even the mear talk of backing off their bond buying program shows up on Wall Street's leader board. And to think these guys went to school for this.

Example #3: The Electric Automobile

Yet another example of the government's attempt to create a market where one does not exist.

The "new" electric car is falling short of expectations. Expensive to make, expensive to buy and maintain, they can't compete with the efficiency and reliability of the gasoline engine. If the electric car was a good idea, it would have already been a mainstay in the marketplace already and not a government subsidized novelty item.

Perhaps most people don't realize that the electric automobile has a long history in the U.S. and at the trun of the last centry once competed with the gasoline engine on the open market...and lost.

Since the early 1900s the electric car hasn't really gotten any more efficient. Its range, weight and unpredicatbility in cold weather have not changed much in over 100 years.

The electric cars biggest enemy is Physics. It doesn't operate well in cold weather and just where do you suppose all this electricity to run them comes from, electric powered power plants? Nope! It's Coal that drives this electric bus!

Electric automobiles have always been a Fad and had we put as much resources into developing a more efficient gasoline engine, Billions of dollars I might add, we coudl well have been seeing gas engines that get 100 miles to a gallon of gas by now.
But we don't get to see what does not get to happen.

The only way the electric car will catch on is if that was the only thing out there for the public to buy. Sorta like the old Soviet "that's all you're going to get" approach to marketing.

Which leads me to the last example...

Example #4 The Mercury Light Bulb

The incandecent light bulb has been outlawed by the U.S. government. If light bulbs are outlawed, only outlaws will have light bulbs. Actually they didn't ban them outright, they only placed a mandate that they reach an efficiency that they cannot reach.

But the result is the same. You will not be able to buy an incandecent light bulb. What you CAN get is the grossly unatractive and somewhat toxic Mercury light bulb. Yes, there is Mercury in them and so you are not really supposed to just throw them away. They should be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. How's that for convenience? We all know that this is not going to happen.

But the main point is that government once again attempts to make us take a lesser product that has not proven to be popular and isn't even a good source of light.

Summary

This is for all those who still actually believe that Government is the answer to the nation’s problems. This is for people who think the government just has to “pass a law” and it will make things right. This is for people who think that FORCE in necessary to make people to comply with an arbitrary law. You can plainly see that these efforts always end in failure since solving problems is not what motivates government anymore.
Government creates problems it then tries to solve by more government and in the words of that great cartoon character, Rocket J. Squirrel from the Rocky & Bullwinkle Show; “But Bullwinkle, THAT trick NEVER works!”

A government subsidy or assistance may make you happy today but it will only lead to tears tomorrow. Depend on government if you want to cry and if you want to beg. Depend on yourself if you want to prosper and move forward and become a free person.
Recognize that today’s short-money handout is tomorrow’s dependency and a path to servitude. If you think that today you will take it so that your children will break out in the future, you are mistaken. If you as a parent don’t break out now, where will the example be set?

Fight for you human dignity. Fight for your right to grow and to learn from mistakes.
Start today.

Government Spending Does Not Grow the Economy

I don’t know where the disconnect is. Is it just politics and the people who are the recipients of government money just pretend they believe it or are people just stupid to begin with and join the “destruction leads to economic success” crowd.

Government does not produce anything for sale. They get their money mostly from taxes, income taxes, excise taxes, sales tax and other administrative fees. These moneys come from the taxpayer< people who work for private business and produce goods and provide services> for which they are paid by the consumer> with this so far?

When the government takes these moneys in they then transfer these funds to their prospective budgets and agencies that spend it on what they do, like the USADA, the FBI, the FDA and the money is also allocated to Medicare, SSI and states in the form of Federal Highway Funds.
All this moving of funds takes people, government employees, who handle the accounting, the money transfers and keeps track of the money coming in from their various sources. In private enterprise we call these people “Overhead”. These people cost money in pay and benefits. They only exist to handle the tax money coming in and there are legions of them from local IRS agents, town collectors, state collectors to the federal IRS. This process carries a price tag.

This is why when either State or Federal agencies spend taxpayer money, they put out much less than they take in. This is in the form of the previously mentioned overhead. The money handling  costs reduce what the government takes in.

A great example of government spending in action is Boston’s Central Artery/Tunnel Project, aka The Big Dig, a federal highway’s project that when 9 years beyond it’s 1998 completion date and over ran its budget from a projected $2.8 Billion to an incredible $14.8 Billion and will end up costing a total of $21 Billion once the bonds floated have been paid for. Taxes have had to go up to pay for this massive expenditure. The Feds only contrubuted $7 Billion to the project meaning the State of Massachusetts has to pay the other half. And it was a lousy job. The tunnel leaks like a sive and the ceiling panels are suspect. And they didn'even make the road wider.
Government too often starts to look for a place to put a bridge rather than where a bridge is needed. So when someone says the government creates jobs I have to laugh out loud. The government does not create jobs. Companies create jobs. The only difference is when the government takes money out of the private sector to create a jobs, we only see those jobs. We don't see the jobs, the buildings  and the opportunities that money would have created because it was never allowed to happen.
These private sector jobs would also have taken place without the overhead that government is stuck with as a matter of course. This is why a government job is not a net gain to the economy. These jobs don’t grow the economy because they go to non-producing jobs that provide no measurable return to the economy. Oh, the government workers put money back into the economy when they spend it but as a whole, less money is going back into the economy than was taken. This is a loss in economic growth, not a gain. There are too many people handling the process for there to be any cost effectiveness to their public works.  This is not a political thing, it is an accounting thing. It’s just the math of the situation. The more people involved in the process, the less that comes out of it. Everyone gets a check but not every job produces growth.
Growth only occurs in the private sector where the efficiencies of competition and the marketplace determine success and expansion. If you make something people are willing to buy voluntarily, you will grow the economy. Governent didn't invent Microsoft or Samsung.

The latest outright lie I’ve heard was that the U.S. economy shrank mostly because of government cuts. What didn’t the government produce that they had to cut back on other than killing machines perhaps? No, the nation does not run on government spending, the nation runs on private sector production and that is something that the government itself is killing because of higher taxes and increased regulations. This is squeezing the consumer and when people stop consuming, the economy shrinks.
This is not a surprise to anyone where they can see government growing and taking resources out of the economy and causing producers to produce less since they can’t sell what they’re making because consumers are buying less since there is less in their pockets.

What did they think was going to happen?

The Decline and Fall of the American Socialist System

Rather than recent events being a triumph of the Leftist agenda to transfer the assets of successful people to those less successful and of Governments attempts to gain unrestricted control of the nation’s economy, we are actually seeing the final downfall of Socialism in the world.
Much like other totalitarian regimes before it, the takeover of the Federal aspect of the United States by the Liberal Left is failing just ahead of what many are pointing to as its greatest triumph: Total responsibility for what is produced and not produced in the nation.

Of course this all hasn’t happened overnight. Economic historians can point to Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal and broad powers of administration for not defeating the depression but prolonging it by almost a decade. Imagine what would have only lasted 3 or 4 years was stretched by bad policy to 13 years. Then WWII came along and we HAD to dedicate resources to making stuff again. But that demand came without the means of actually paying for it so the debts began to pile up.
Later President Lyndon Banes Johnson provided us with The Great Society, a war on poverty in America! But as always happens, his war on poverty only cause poverty to increase. The rewards for not being successful started to gain on the rewards of actually being successful. Coupling this with the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s really was a wealth of positive information for the Socialist Left of this nation: They discovered that they could make the slaves love their slavery.

These “Movements” have nothing to do with actually taking care of people or caring for their economic situation or even “Fairness” since statistically their situation overall doesn’t improve. It only means that the beneficiaries of the Welfare State don’t have to work as hard or educate themselves to stay where they are. And it’s all about making people happy to be where they are even if it’s comfortably poor. These people actually think they’re getting away with something. The joke is on them.
But at any rate, bad policy takes decades to manifest itself in the shaping of the collectivist mind, the attitude that the common good outweighs the rights and successes of the individual. What’s yours is also mine. It’s that air of entitlement that the left needs so much to drive its mobs of newly uneducated.

This is why it was imperative to take over the National School System and to buy its way into public media, to control the message and to control the mind.
So now they have 51% of the vote. But here is the fatal flaw in their newest plan: It Doesn’t Work!

It can’t work. Every new set of Leftists throughout the recent history of Karl Marx think that this NEXT TIME will work, that every time before there was something done wrong and that THIS TIME they will make it work. They will take from the successful and buy their influence with the majority of less successful or just plain unsuccessful. Of course government has helped those less fortunate from actually being successful in so many ways by controlling access to capital, providing the standard, sub-standard education and by taxing money out of your pocket so that you can’t do anything with it yourself. BUT they’ll lend your money back to you if you want to go to college. Just as long as it’s the government hand you go running to for your sustenance, it’s good.
But subsequently the Left is always doomed to failure unless they can force you to stay and take it. This is why the Soviet Union had to build wall around the entire country and put people with guns in towers. But even doing that, people never stopped trying and dying to reach the other side of that wall. Why? Because they’d rather die than live the way they were living.  And this is the end-game of all totalitarian Marxist regimes.: Shortages, Hardship and Financial Ruin.

When have you ever heard of a CAPITALIST PURGE? Never? That’s because freedom doesn’t need a purge. Joseph Stalin is “credited” with killing up to 50 MILLION Russian people during his bloody reign. Mao Tse-tung? He leads the way with up to 70 MILLION Chinese people. Then there was Pol Pot who only managed to kill 2 Million Vietnamese in his quest for a Communist farming society.
And who did these purges target? Smart People! If you had any brains or education you were TOAST! They didn’t want a guy/gal like you around telling people things. You were out in a bad way.

Knowing this, how can anybody speak in admiration of these killers? Yet Mao and Stalin are actually revered by the left. The Chinese totalitarian regime, though decidedly more Capitalist than Communist is still a totalitarian regime. No one has a vote and no one gets to decide how they are to be governed. They are told what to do and what to make. The government decides what it wants and it takes it. Just ask the people of Tibet. Way to go China!
But ultimately the Socialist Systems always crumble because they lack imagination and the freedom to pursue an idea. An idea like a personal computer or a new way of drawing oil from a place previously thought impossible. A Socialist System cannot think like this. It draws resources but cannot replace what it has taken nor increase its production since many times it will make what people don’t want. It ignores the Strongest Force in the World: The Market. And without that swirling force of ideas, risk, failures and triumphs, Socialism cannot stand.

So as of right now, The Federal Government has spent 17 times the country’s Gross National Product and has nothing to show for it. It has artificially held up its public workforce with tax money that has yet to be earned. But even the United States cannot defy gravity. Now Obama’s government owns the economy. Who can they blame?
It’s a shame that freedom loving peoples all over the world have to endure such misguided ideology and hardship but such is freedom that it has to be savored and revered to survive. It’s when people trade their freedom for the promise of a Pot o’ Gold is where the figure of man so imperfect still stumbles from time to time.

People will find alternatives. They'll join the underground economy and step away from the taxed goods. They'll vote with their feet and the successful will move to the red states. The country will stratify and there will be successful states and very, very unsuccessful states. The Federal overlords will eventually capitulate to the forces of the Market since the Government will be totally broke and the dependent class without it's mother's milk.

The wheels are already in motion.

Left Wing Nuts Come Out for Thanksgiving

Yes, I get it, Columbus was a killer. The difference between him and a thousand or so other people who landed on the north American continent back in the day was that Columbus made the new world pay. He found the gold and he found the slave trade. Ok, so now what?
This is the time of year where, perhaps emboldened by another four years of an Obama administration that is all for the tearing down long standing “White European” traditions, whatever they are, where everybody and their immigrant uncle rails against Thanksgiving and Christmas. While they’re at it they should unearth the truth about Plymouth Rock, the Liberty Bell and the Tooth Fairy.

I’ll have to say that 1492 was a long time ago yet I can’t get enough of hearing about how ruthless post Renaissance “Euro-Whitey” came over and exploited, deceived and murdered millions of peaceful, communal and environmentally friendly indigenous peoples of both South and North America.
Now I realize that one cannot discover a new land when there are already people living on it. It seems to me that the people living there must have discovered it first but I’m just plain tired of hearing about it over and over again every year. It’s really just annoying and it’s HISTORY.

My ancestors, the CELTS, were murdered, enslaved and walled off by the Romans. The Irish had the crap kicked out of them by the VIKINGS and were starved by the ENGLISH not half as long ago as when Columbus did his dirty work for crying out loud. When do we stop carping about the past and move on with our lives and our civilization?
One of the statistics of the “New World” was that 90% of the indigenous population did not die from a bullet. Most of the Indians died of disease. Smallpox, a former scourge of human existence everywhere from the beginning of human history and which was finally eradicated from the world only in 1978, killed 1/3 of the population of Boston in 1730 and again in 1740. It generally killed one out of three Europeans it infected.  Do you hazard a guess as to the percentage of Indians it killed? Smallpox killed 98% of infected Indians. Sometimes it killed 100%. Disease killed entire villages, some who never even had a chance to lay their eyes on a white man, their bones littering the ground because there was no one left alive to bury them.

The difference was that the Europeans were living in the filth of their pack animals. They slept with them for warmth and caught their bovine and swine flus and the survivors built up immunities. The Indians of the Americas had no such animals and no such immunities. I don’t know what could have changed this fact.
If it wasn't Columbus who came over and went “Achoo!” then it would have been someone else.
Perhaps an African, they got around in those days too. But it was inevitable that it was going to happen and I suppose it would be somebody else’s name these people would be cursing. Perhaps it would've been a guy named “Clarence”, “Clarence the Killer!”

And the idea of the “Noble Savage” is a bigger myth than that big “Euro-Whitey” Paul Bunyan and his big blue ox. The tribes were in a state of almost constant warfare with each other and the local indian tribe, the Wampanoag, originally embraced the Pilgrims in the hopes that they would help them in their efforts to repel the aggressive Narragansett of the Rhode Island territory.
The Incas and Aztecs were cannibals who practiced in ritual human sacrifice. There is also archeological evidence that the Native Americans of Arizona and New Mexico also ate human flesh.

In his 1586 memoir, "The True History of the Conquest of Mexico", published in 1632, Bernal Diaz del Castillo, a man who actaully marched with  Cortez during the 1520 Spanish conquest of Mexico, describes scenes of ritual sacrifice that are astounding in their scope and savagery. It is one of the world’s great works and everyone should read it.
This is history warts and all and the history of America, like the hisotries of most countries, is the history of conquest. What land has not been taken from another? And the conquerors will not hold it forever either since someone else will surely come along and lay claim to what is under our feet.

But stop whining about it. It isn’t going to change. If you’re looking for a handout, perhaps you’ll get one but if you aren’t, just let it go already and move on.
Everybody knows what happened and its all water under the bridge. Nobody living in the U.S. now has ever owned a slave or oppressed an Indian. People like having a day of Thanksgiving and don't give a rat's patoot what the real origin of the day is.

This act is growing tiresome. Get a job!
