At What Point Do You Stop Listening?

The press just can't get enough of the "feud" between President Trump and The Squad of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib and that overt Jew hater, Ilhan Omar.

It's the media corps that have elbowed Nancy Pelosi to the back of the room and put the spotlight on these four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse and it is they who are the reason that this is all a big deal.

It's not a big deal.

If you're worried that people may be believing all the zany things these people are saying just because they're all over the airwaves, I wouldn't be.

It isn't like the political arena lacks for want of crazy, prescription-drug crazed politicos because there seems to be no short supply.

I don't blame the Socialist Sisters for being camera hogs, I blame the people who are supplying the cameras. It's Fox News and "The World is Coming to an End" Drudge Report that are making the most political hay out of this. Talk about "It's all about the Benjamins".

All the accusations of "Racist" and constant media deluge of media hate towards the president, the wobbly GOP who would still rather have Hillary Clinton than prosperity and a good economy, the radical leftist states that every day announce another reason for their working citizens to get the hell out of there, it's all for naught. It's just the constant stream of nothingness and minutia that the "News" has become today. Nothing more than an incessant drone of negative energy, causing no good and if you listen too long, will cause mental instability.

In the Oppressive Ogres Corp where I work I share an office with another person. He's a political guy and a Trump supporter and each day he can't help but peruse MSN, CNN, Politico and other such non-sense media sights and read me some of what they say. He gets upset about it. I say, "I don't understand why you do this to yourself, you already know what they're going to say." But he can't help it. He gets even more upset when Fox says the same thing.

"Stop reading that crap!" I insist, "You're going to drive yourself Koo-Koo!"

And here we are.

I've checked out. I don't give a flying Phitt about what any of these people have to say or the so-called "conservative" media outlet that gives them a forum because I know it's all just about ratings and the advertising dollars they bring. Fox isn't in business to "Defend the Republic", they're in business to make a buck and if you're stupid enough to jump through a hoop or run into the streets in outrage every time they come up with a "Crisis' then you have nobody but yourself to blame. It's all just Street Theater for the Rubes.

As my older brother used to say to me all the time...

"Don't be an idiot."

It's not going to make one iota of a difference when it comes time to vote. Nobody is actually picking up what they're putting down and all the dead people in the country won't be able to out-vote the living when the time comes.

Because, quite frankly, even though we are not all "Brothers under the Skin" like most whackos want you to think, we do all want the same basic things.

We all want a roof over our head. We want a good livelihood for ourselves and a future for our children. This includes an acceptable level of education and opportunity for them to pursue their interests when they are old enough to decide and choose.

We all want...stuff! Whether it be a nicer car than most people drive, a boat, a nice house with central air conditioning and nice patio furniture. Oh, and a patio!

And we're all too willing to work for it, to drive great distances daily to get to our chosen places of employment and to withstand most daily torments of American life to get this...stuff!

Now I don't care where you're from originally. If you grew up here, you'r ruined for any place else anyway. Once you are "Americanized" you're screwed. No, we should figure out what to do with the Dreamers because even though your name may be Hernandez and you're parents are from Mexico, you'd be fucking lost in Mexico. I have black friends that went to The Gambia for a visit. They're like, "Wholly shit, I couldn't live there!" Of course not, your a friggin' American. You haven't washed a dish by hand since childhood never mind having to live on rice and beans. They don't even have cable!

So anyway, no matter what your background, if you're working for a living, trying to play by the rules and putting up with hearing all this whacko bullshit on the television and radio, when you finally get to the voting booth this November are you really going to pull the lever for what these nutjobs are trying to sell you?

No, I don't think so.

Like me, you may not have the best setup but it's working. You can go out every so often, have dinner and drinks, maybe once a week, take in a show, go for a hike, hit the gym and have some semblance of a decent career and life. You're hanging in despite the effort. But you know as well as I do that if you let this group of Quarter-Stalins get a hold of the means to your paycheck and livelihood, it could all turn to shit in a hurry.

There'll be no place to go but down...

And everybody knows it.

EU, NATO, Let Ukraine Down

I'll bet Petro Poroshenko, the Ukrainian President misses all those nuclear weapons his nation gave up at the insistence of his European Union "brothers". Oh, they used to be a nuclear power but since they were going to be part of the EU, they were talked out of having them because the EU said, "We'll help you deal with Russia, don't you worry at all!".

The EU, invincible in peace time, invisible in war time.

Now that the shit is hitting the fan between Russia and their former national bread basket, the European Union and NATO want no part of that altercation. "We've got your back." they have said yet when the bully comes onto the playground, Ukraine turns around and finds they are on their own...again.

Such is what life must be like for the Ukrainian people. Wanting out, wanting in, wanting to be something more than a backwards farm culture and yet always being dragged back into the darkness because they don't have the resources and nobody wants the Russian army, notorious for their ability to kill people indiscriminately and break things knocking on THEIR door.

Also, they buy a lot of booze and stuff.

So Ukraine dangles. It implores, it tries it's best to hold itself together as their European "friends" look on. Will NATO send troops to be a buffer between Russia and Ukraine?

Are you high on drugs? What, do you think this is Kenya or something where all they have are rifles and can't shoot for shit? Hell no, they're not going to send troops.

Will the European Union impose more sanctions on Russia? Will their navies lend a helping hand?

I wouldn't hold my breath. I haven't heard much condemnation coming out of any EU country over the Russian taking of Ukrainian naval vessels.

After all, this is all happening in Europe. Someone is bound to have noticed.

Perhaps they are preparing a response in secret and will spring into action after the G-20 Summit?

Yes, that's it, they are going to take action as soon as they all get back to their countries.

Fat chance.

ObamaCare Has To Go…Now!

The U.S. economy is never going to get better until the Affordable Care Act is repealed in total.

What do we replace it with?

Replace it with nothing.

The less that government is involved with healthcare, the better.  Just look at what a wonderful job the government has done since it got involved in the American school system.

Scrap ObamaCare. The longer it is allowed to linger the worse off everyone will be.

The Affordable Care Act is the single biggest economic blunder that has blown a hole in our often touted but yet unverified “Economic Recovery” of the last EIGHT YEARS! That is not economic recovery that is stagnation. For eight years, despite the forged jobs numbers, the glad-talk and the media propaganda, we have had miserable growth. People are working two part-time jobs, contract jobs or not working and flat small business growth all because the cost of insuring people in the workforce has grown so high that companies have balked at hiring. ObamaCare has made people too expensive and as a result fueled the growth of automation.

It also shows in the actions of large U.S. employers who can just get workers from India under H-1B visas and pay them minimum wage. Or use Indian and Mexican companies as outsourced call centers and pay them even less than that.

And of course, they don’t have to pay for their healthcare.

In 2012 my co-pay, the payment I made to see my regular doctor, was $15.00 a visit. I could see, say, a cardiologist for the same payment.  My deductible, the yearly out-of-pocket medical expenses I was responsible to pay before the insurance company started covering was $500.00 for the year.

As of 2016 my co-pay is $25.00 for my regular doctor, $45.00 for the Cardiologist who is now a “Specialist” and my deductible is now $1500.00 out-of-pocket.

My employer will pay 582.71 per month for this year’s coverage or $6,992.52 in total.

This is for a single person. The family plan is double this expense.

That's a lot of money.

This is what has happened in 5 years under ObamaCare. What will the next five years bring?

Chaos.

It is a downward spiral of less money, less resources, more work for those employed and no future for those who aren’t. Less money to spend to keep the economy going because it’s all getting sucked up into these Free Lunch medical services for “The Poor”.

There is no fixing this plan. It must be scrapped and the sooner the better for all involved. It will not get better, it can only get worse and all the protesting in the world isn’t going to change the reality of the fact that there just isn’t enough money in the world to make Socialized Medicine work. It never has. It’s failing every place it’s been tried. Canada? Failing. Britain? Failing. Cuba? Ha, you’re kidding me, right?

Things weren’t perfect before Obama injected yet more government involvement in the medical industry so government should not add anything more.

Market forces will return with freedom of choice. Let people buy their healthcare from outside sources and across state lines. Let people only pay for the services they need instead of forcing them to carry useless services they won’t be using and make sure the people who are paying nothing, pay SOMETHING. Otherwise they won’t respect the system.

Health Insurance should be something I can carry with me instead of with my employer. This kind of market mobility will allow more people to be in business for themselves.

But the cheapest way for people to afford their healthcare is for government to get out of the healthcare business. Government only adds bureaucratic overhead and runs deficits. Neither of these forces is conducive to affordable ANYTHING.

The GOP has to grow a backbone and perform some tough-love for the victims of the New Slave Culture, the culture that craves their government give-a-ways and will fight in the streets to keep them.

Like it’s their right to destroy the economy.

Jeb Bush’s Money is Useless

Talk about all the money in politics and the influence it buys, it  just doesn’t seem to be helping former Florida Republican Governor Jeb Bush in his efforts to reach the White House.

As Bernie, Hillary and the rest of the Political Left rages against the U.S. Supreme Court allowing political campaign contributions by corporations and Political Action Committees (PACs) and raging that Wall Street cash is changing the face of the 2016 Presidential Election, Jeb Bush must be sitting and staring at his television wondering why the hell it hasn’t done him a bit of good.

With a sixth place finish in Iowa with 2.8 percent of the vote, Jeb was left pulling up the rear behind Rand Paul and Ben Carson. Not a good result for the Man Who Would be President.

But what about all that money?

It has been reported that Jeb! has already spent over $31 Million in his own campaign cash and his Political Action Committee, “Right to Rise” has doled out between 90 and 103 Million dollars.

That's a lot of Cake for 2.8 percent of the vote in Iowa. If you gave money to Jeb Bush's campaign, you might be feeling like you had made a bad investment. And in reality, you did.

But if Jeb! thinks that’s bad, wait until next Tuesday in New Hampshire.

All that money, the root of all that is wrong in politics if you listen to the political wags, hasn’t gained Jeb Bush the trust of the American people. Quite the opposite, it has been a colossal waste. In contrast, the New Hampshire primary favorite, Donald Trump, has spent less than $20 Million.

Perhaps it isn’t the money then. All the money in the world isn’t going to buy you a vote if people don’t believe you or your message. And Jeb Bush’s message has been disturbing to a majority of American voters. This is a fact borne out by the lack of voter’s interest in his candidacy.

The former Crazed Mayor of New York City , Michael Bloomberg, (he's still Crazed, just no longer Mayor) has been spending money hand over foot to get more anti-gun ownership legislation passed and it hasn’t done him any good either. In this time of random terrorism on soft civilian targets to go along with every day criminal activity, people aren’t inclined to give up their right to own a firearm. Add to that, given his high profile governorship of the nation's largest city, people know Mr. Bloomberg has more money than brains and if he should jump into the race for the 2016 presidency, it will really prove that money isn't everything when it comes to American politics.

So as it stands, people just aren’t interested in the product Jeb Bush is selling, namely himself. They don't like the substance of his ideas and the package of his veneer. They don’t want amnesty for illegal aliens, they really don’t want another big spender, they aren’t interested in more military intervention in the Middle East, they don’t want continued expansion of government and they certainly don’t want to create a political dynasty by sending yet another misguided Bush family member to the White House.

Otherwise they would have voted for him.

Jeb Bush and his group has dished out plenty of cash to get his message across to the American people and the people apparently have heard his message loud and clear and they’ve sent one back to him.

Forget it!

Message to European Union: Don’t Do It!

Message to EU: Don’t Bail Out Greece...again!

How many times are you guys going to fall for this Scam? Greece is Grifting the European Union AGAIN! Please wise up and snap out if it. You'll feel so much better later.

The Greek Madhouse they call a Parliament has pushed the EU’s major player(s), meaning Germany to the brink and then pulled back far enough to draw them in again because NOW the Greeks feel that they can comply with the EUs financial demands IF they can get, this time, a five year bailout deal.

Does anybody see where this is going?

These guys in the EU have got to have rocks in their heads if they are going to part with any more of their taxpayer’s dough. After all the money that they’ve already put into Greece with NO return, none!

How desperate and foolish the EU will look. First with even trying to make a deal at this late hour in a pie-in-the-sky Hail Mary pass and then the foolish part comes later when they again have the football pulled from underfoot just as they were about to kick it as Greece plays Lucy to the EUs Charlie Brown.

Do we have to continue to bear witness to this, the world’s longest running drama and this latest “Will she, won’t she” episode that, although it was years in the making, it's so boring to watch.

The European Union ought to just throw in the towel on a bailout plan and chalk it all up to an expensive education by the Commie Greek Nut-jobs that they should have known  better than to get involved with. The EU ministers mothers were all heard to say “ See? I TOLD you not to play with those kids!”. They should have listened to mother.

If the EU won’t take into consideration it's own well-being and the quality of life for their own taxpayers, perhaps they can do ME a favor and get on with the business of getting Greece out of the EU sooner than later. It’s NOT going to get any better. Just more years of  talks and catered lunches, first class flight accommodations and black limousine rides with Television cameras and people asking the same stupid question over and over, "What has this crisis got to do with Global Warming?". Maybe I'm wrong, maybe this sort of thing is something the self-important rulers of Europe never get tired of. Hell, it beats digging a ditch!

So if not for you, do it for me. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put me out of my misery. If this Dog and Pony show goes on any longer, I don’t think I’m gonna survive. How can you all do this day after day and get nothing done for YEARS?

It’s like watching some YouTube video of "Russians doing Crazy Shit". I want to live my life in peace but I just can’t  look away. Everyone can see it coming except the guy in the video. What was that guy thinking? How long will he be able to hold on?

You've been warned.

The Anarchist Mentality

My last girlfriend was and remains an Anarchist.

I have to admit that living here in suburbia that one doesn’t get to meet or have everyday interaction with a real Anarchist so it was a bit of a shock to the system upon the revelation of that Anarchist attitude toward our society as it is presently.

We met on an Internet dating site and she lives in the city of Boston.

The thing that attracted me to her was that we had similar backgrounds. I was born into the projects of the City of Boston and she was born into the projects of New York City. We both had gone to public school, were around the same age, liked many of the same things culturally and were, essentially, city dwellers. We were both employed although she works for a public radio station in the city and I work in the private sector out in the burbs.

What I didn’t like about the relationship was her attitude. Her attitude politically, in my opinion, was disturbing.

It wasn’t that she was a Liberal, because she was and I could deal with that, but also her distain for and desire to destroy the pillars of what had built in the United States from the very beginning. The tenants of Capitalism, self reliance, of working hard to build wealth, private ownership of property and even Democracy when it got in the way of what was "Right".

She wished for the whole system to collapse, the economic system, the political system, our society and yes, our Constitution, the document upon which is was all built, to be done away with. This was unbelievable to me.

I would ask “Well doll, what would you propose we replace it all with?” No clue. She didn’t care about that part. “You know, I continued, this will hurt not just the well-to-do but the working class and yourself as well. If the system is destroyed, wouldn’t you lose everything too?” She didn’t care about that either. It was only important that the people who were in power lost theirs and the consequences to her, her family and her friends were secondary.

This is the mind of the Anarchist. They don’t care who gets hurt or what happens afterward, they only wish to tear down what is there now. There is no thought of "after".

Greece is currently displaying the Anarchist Mentality as it has been plying its Con Game with the European Union. Greece didn’t join the EU to be a part of something greater, they joined because they saw an opportunity to scam some money from some high-minded aristocrats who traditionally had looked down their noses at them. They saw an opportunity to spend other people’s money because they know that once established, the EU would throw more money at them to hold it together. Now when they’ve pushed the EU monetary ministers to their breaking point, Greece, which has already stated that they are in War Mode, will only work to pry the EU apart. Too bad the EU didn't believe it when they first heard this said.

But this is what Anarchists do. It’s Comeuppance. To them, it’s what the EU deserves for taking home a sick, half-dead rattlesnake and nursing it back to health. They should have known better. You cannot expect gratitude from a snake.

One place where I think the paths of my ex-girlfriend and I diverged was when my family had to enter the projects in Roxbury, my mom, who was the head of the household, remained working. We were in public housing but we didn’t go on the welfare track. She had always worked from a young age, from fighting boys for the coal that fell off railroad coal bins as the trains passed by during the first Great Depression and then in the war factories of WWII. She ran a giant turret lathe and drilled cannon barrels for tanks. She always told us how the oil that lubricated the drill wreaked havoc with her complexion. When the boys came home from the war, the women were let go and told to start families. The work ethic stayed strong and when she was left widowed with three children, she went back to work.

In the projects, where few people actually got up everyday and went to work, Ma got up every day and went to work. We saw this. This is how the work ethic is built. There were things we couldn't do with her because she was working. There were things she couldn't do with us because she was working. That's why they call it "work". This also fostered resentment among those who did not work and there were tensions, threats and sometime physical violence which myself and my older brothers had to deal with. Me being the youngest, I became the easiest target for some of this. We were different and the "so, you think you're better than me?" mentality was evident. This is a divide for the ages. When they couldn't get to us, they went after my mother's car and that had to be defended too on occasion. And one of my most vivid memories was one winter when ma slipped on the ice, fell hard, hitting her head and then getting up and still going into work. She said the next day that she doesn't remember a thing about the day or what she did.

Back then women weren’t viewed as the bread winners and you only got your start as a secretary. A secretary salary only goes so far.  Still, through hard work, taking college courses at night and seeking higher opportunities, ma was able to work herself into a better position to get the family out of the projects which she eventually succeeded when I was halfway through elementary school and my brothers were entering junior high school. She bought a house, not the best house, in a suburb of Boston in a blue collar neighborhood. Up to the time we could work, we never asked for money.

Neither I nor my three brothers went to our high school Proms. We didn’t go on school trips that required money. We didn’t go out to eat much except for an occasional trip to McDonald’s or Howdy’s and a big trip was going to Lake Pearl way out in Franklin, MA to swim. When we got old enough to work, we saved every dime and contributed to the house. One brother and I both worked our way through college, myself through night school. We took nothing and we owed nothing.

My girlfriend’s upbringing paints a different picture. When her family came to New York from Puerto Rico, they went on public assistance even though they had an intact family unit since her father and mother, who were married, were together. She lived in public housing right up until she graduated high school and went to college. College was paid for through the State since she lived in public housing and was “poor”. The family was all this time on the welfare system. She went to the University of New York and also got her master’s from prestigious California University, all on the public arm.  She now works for a “non-profit” communications group funded by the State and by listener contributions making a better wage than I do. Was that life hard for them? I bet it was but it was very different from my experience growing up.

So it stands to reason that she would be All In on the Welfare State since all that she is today is because of it. The gulf between us was wide and deep and although I was very fond of her, our relationship was doomed.

One time I noted that my organization really likes to hire minorities and would do so at every opportunity yet, due to the nature of the work, most don’t tend to stay long. She asked me what kind of community outreach we were doing to correct this “problem”.

My reply was, after “Are you fucking kidding me?!” was that we are an equal opportunity employer and if someone, anyone, can’t make an effort to apply (online even) and walk in our door for an interview, what good will it do to go looking for them? Success does not cater to the unmotivated. Community outreach indeed. We have plenty of Portuguese employees since we are located on the south coast of Massachusetts, THEY are a minority group and THEY seem to have no trouble finding the place.

This is a fundamental rift of the entitled. They hate the very system that hands them everything and they should since we’re doing nobody any favors by giving them the very things they could earn themselves if given half a chance. In this instance the Welfare State served only to create and support Anti-Capitalists and Anarchists.

At least one that I know anyway.

One sees people doing well and works to get ahead like they did and the other just wants to take it away from them by force if necessary as if somehow they cheated them or others to get where they are and are keeping them down through The System! If only they were allowed to make it so.

But there are many others just like her who work with us, walk among us and are currently in our government. Judge the actions and not the words but their words give them away if we actually take the time to listen to them. Anarchists tell us everyday what they are after. We just refuse to believe it.

Because of the situations of our upbringing, both of us were left with chips on our shoulders. But only one of us wants to destroy what another has built. Sure there is corruption but there is plenty that was built the right way, through hard work, commitment and capital risk. Capitalism may not work for everybody but no system does and we only need to view history to tell us how well Socialism has worked.

Socialism has sunk Greece. It sank Venezuela and Brazil. It will sink Spain. It will sink Italy. And it will most certainly sink the United States of America so yes, my ex will most likely get her wish and feel good about being a part of its downfall. The white European majority, whatever that really is, will fall. But what then?

Zimbabwe got rid of the Europeans and within a year after many of them were drinking out of mud puddles and dying of Cholera in the streets while their economy collapsed and the nation fell to ruins. It’s still a ruin.

But they didn’t care. Anarchists don't think that far ahead. It wasn’t about them living; it was about destroying the white farmers and taking what they had built. That was all that mattered. They neither thought nor cared where the food was going to come from. They didn’t know shit about running a farm but they drove out the ones who did because that’s what Anarchy does. It destroys indiscriminately and without a plan for the future.

Once the Communists gained power in Russia, they quickly learned their plans didn’t work but still took 78 years to collapse. The misery the people of Russia suffered under the Soviet Union is well documented and heart rending.

All the Marxists cared about was taking power, what happened after that was not important and subject to improvisation.

Anarchists can’t run a country. Terrorists can’t keep the lights on.

They can only destroy.

EU Throws Cash Down A Greek Commode

When is Germany and the other major EU countries going to wake up to the fact that they’re never going to get their money back.

Didn't this sort of thing already happen during the post WWI era with U.S. Stock investment in Germany that lead to the Wall Street Crash of 1929 and triggered the first Great Depression? Does this ring a bell with anybody?

As the story goes, the stock investments were supposed to build factories and office buildings in Germany to restore the nation and deliver a return on investment. Like in the old Broken Window theory of economics, Germany needed everything. But little did the investors know that the money instead went to paying France the formidable war reparations it was awarded in the Armistice.

In this fashion, none of the money that was pouring into Greece is going to where it is supposed to go either.
The smokescreen being thrown up by the latest Greek government is not unlike the smokescreen that was thrown up by the last Greek government. It’s a Dog and Pony Show, just a put-on for the rubes meant to keep the status quo when everyone knows it can’t go on.

Nobody wants to throw in the towel on the EU when its intrinsic flaws were evident from the very beginning. The EU can’t strangle the shit out of another EU country by taxing them back to the Stone Age like our government in theses United States can do and has been doing.  Also if an EU country goes into debt and like Greece, MASSIVE debt, in a currency they can’t print, then there is no economic force, like inflating the currency, that can be pulled without effecting the rest of the EU nations. They’re just stuck with the debt and THAT effects the other EU nations.

So Germany ends up doing what the U.S. did in the 1980s with its stupid loans to South America: They start lending MORE money to the debtor nations so that they can pay the interest on the U.S. loan debt. But instead of banks laying out case, Germany and France are going to the taxpayer well and that is a BAD HABIT.

At least the U.S. banks did this to buy time to eventually write down and charge off the losses but they still had to take the loss. Drawing out the write off only softened the blow to investors. What is the EU going to do? It doesn’t look like this is their plan.

Hello, EU, Greece has NO INTENTION of paying back the money!

They are still in some weird War Mentality with Germany where they are trying to justify their non-compliance with their EU monetary responsibilities as an act of defiance for being flattened by Germany in WWII. As if the EU put a gun to the heads of Greek politicians when they signed their ridiculous retirement and pension agreements, giving their massive and massively wasteful Public Sector the right to a job and a right to retire from that job at, what, 55 to 58 years old? And come on, they only SAY they are going to start collecting property taxes, they aren't actually going to DO IT!

And in this case it’s the German taxpayer who really suffers and the working class of France and the people who bust their asses at real jobs who see their tax money being funneled to the unworthy, the unmutable and the unwilling to cooperate with the plan. Is this the result of a long simmering dislike based on the past or is this merely an excuse by a desperate nation that is living the Ant and the Cricket Aesop Fable? It looks like the later but the result will be the same.

So why should the EU throw any more money at Greece? Greece is going to just waste it and laugh. Of course they will only laugh long enough til they realize they aren’t going to get any more.

But that is Nationalism for you. People are very protective of their system. Even if it’s shit, it’s still THEIR shit system and they aren’t going to let France or Germany dictate the terms even if it was they themselves that Screwed the Pooch on their finances. What do they care? The sun and ocean is still warm and the olives are in season. The tourists will still come and at least they’ll make SOMETHING. Hell, they’re not paying any taxes so the overhead is low.

It used to be that the U.S. had a sense of Nationalism and pride like that. Right now there are too many American Citizens who think the U.S. is the problem nation of the world. As a percentage there seems to be fewer people who believe in the old American ideals of self-sufficiency, self-reliance and the advantages of hard work in a Meritocracy. They feel the people who have should give all to those that don’t  regardless of the circumstances and that if you have something, then you must have taken it from someone else and so corrections must be implemented. Any this is how a nation ends up when too many people feel that way. This sort of Wrong Thinking can destroy everything. And here we are.

But that’s what you get when a nation lets in millions of undocumented and therefore illegal foreign nationals. They walked right in without going through the rigors of a legal naturalized citizen. They did not have to learn about what it means to be an American Citizen. They didn't have to do anything but climb a fence or crawl through a tunnel and they get what the people who struggled to follow the rules get so becoming an American Citizen no longer carries any weight. It’s really not that important to anybody, especially our government. What difference does it make at this point? And those not vested in the process will only choose to ignore it. They already have.

So the experiment that is the EU, much like the experiment that was the CCCP, will yield to the reality of Market Forces and come apart at the seams. Either that they’ll just limp on into the future and collapse later. Hopefully it won’t take 79 years of misery like the Soviet Union.

Perhaps these things just have to run their course.

Muslims Really Should Question Faith

Why is it that Islam is associated with violence?

Why is Islam so unshakable when so many people are killed in its name in the 21st Century?
Why should Muslims be upset with people being worried when they are around? What they should be upset with is that fellow Muslims are killing people in droves. Does this not bother them?

Islamic militants are currently pressing armed conflicts and killing scores of people in the countries of India, France, Russia, China, The United States, The Philippines, Nigeria, Somalia, Algeria, Belgium, Uganda, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Libya, Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, Chechnya and Israel. I'm sure I'm missing a few.

And people are somehow put off on Islam by this.

With straight faces, Islamic defenders express that this paranoia is unreasonable. THEY are not the cause of the killing but a minority radical element. People shouldn't blame THEM

How CAN'T the producers of world-wide insurrection and the export of terror around the globe be surprised at people’s paranoia in regards to Muslims? How else are people supposed to react?
When they are actually out to get you, paranoia is really just GOOD THINKING.
Should we simply ignore the fact Muslims are sending 10 year old girls into the marketplace with bombs strapped to their bodies to kill innocent people? Should we simply rely on marches and candle-light vigils to combat the growing menace that is radical fundamentalism among…Muslims?
And how does it feel to belong to a religion mostly known for mass murder and forced subjugation to their faith? You don’t agree? Off with your head. And even if you do agree? Off with your head. This is a worthwhile pursuit?

It's all about force with Islam. It's more important to gain converts than what to do once converted. The main object is to convert and since most people don't want to, force is a requirement. This force draws people who feel powerless and so Islam gives them an excuse to exert force upon others. Convert or die. Allah has spoken and in the blink of an eye we are back to 1095.

What kind of people tie a man's hand behind their back and throw them from a two story building? I suppose anyone can do this stuff but not anyone is doing these things. There is only one group doing all of this.
What do I see when I see a Muslim?
Either rightly or wrongfully, I see a religious fanatic. I see a person whose religion dominates not only the way they see God and the world but every action in their daily lives. I see a person who differentiates people as either fellows or outsiders, fellow Muslims or Infidels. I see an uncompromising autobot who blindly follows without questioning. And I see either a killer or a potential killer, an enemy of civilization walking down Main Street, U.S.A.
Even the women, especially the women, are suspect. And while I'm at it, women in a free society do not live in bags!
Am I alone in this feeling? How did I come to think this way? I wasn't born with this attitude, my attitude was MADE.
The cold cruel nature of the way these Muslims kill casts a pall over every Mosque and Muslims should feel at least somewhat ashamed.
But they don’t feel ashamed.
They feel mistreated. They feel put upon. They feel that THEY are the victims.
And why in the world should they feel that way? See above.
If you want to wail against the insidiousness of Western Culture, our gaudy magazines, our lecherous people and our morally corrupt Hollywood movie machine (ok, point taken), THEN DON’T MOVE TO A WESTERN COUNTRY! Why did you leave your majority Muslim country of peace, love and mutual respect to come to a heathen enclave of blasphemers? Huh? Once Muslims gain a significant population in any country, they start insisting they call the shots for their own community and issue their own laws.
It is a poor house guest indeed that shows up and tells you how to run things when the place they came from is a royal fucking mess of their own making. It displays an arrogance of a rare stripe.
They come saying they want freedom but then attempt to impose their restrictive religious orthodoxy upon their host country. France is the biggest example that springs to mind but there are others.
This is why Islam cannot lead. Oh, it may take over but it can’t hold. It rages and destroys but has no hope of accomplishment because turmoil and destruction accomplishes nothing. Islam, even what they call Moderate Islam, is a religion of rigidity that cannot bend or change so it will wallow in the pain of history that it has brought to the world and until it stops, there is no choice but that the world see Islam as the death of civilization.
In light of all that has been happening, can someone prove otherwise?

Obama a Luddite on Keystone Pipeline

It’s only progress when Obama’s contributors can profit. If it’s profit for anybody else, well, we must all reflect and study the issue…for six years and going.
When the government was passing out, and losing in the process, Billions of U.S. Taxpayer dollars in “loans” to manufacturers of solar panels and other so called Green Technology, all with a dubious rate of return in the marketplace to begin with, well this was “moving forward” in America.
But when there is a project with an actual demand in the marketplace and a verifiable rate of return on the investment such as the Keystone pipeline, well that's a horse of a differerent color to our Leftist president.
President Obama’s arguments against the pipeline were always spurious but today appear downright laughable. That the pipeline would benefit Canada and overseas markets, but not the U.S.A.  As if we would only be doing Canada a favor by building this without any net gain to the builders. I believe their would be a slight charge for the use of the pipeline, Mr. President.
Then there are jobs. Not just the jobs to build the pipeline but the jobs to maintain it. There will be added refinery jobs since the oil will need to be refined where it comes out of the pipe. That means Texas, U.S.A.  The estimated cost of the Keystone pipeline at $ 7 Billion, to put things into perspective, would be half the total cost of Boston’s Big Dig Central Artery project that squandered $ 14 Billion federal tax dollars by putting, basically, the highway cutting the city in half, underground. They didn’t even widen the road or put in a commuter rail and the land freed up for development has remained underdeveloped and has not returned dime one back to the Federal Government.
I heard a knee slapper of an stupid comment about the pipeline on that bastion of Democratic Socialism, Bloomberg Radio about how the country today is almost literally awash in oil so why do we need a pipeline now? Even to a feverish follower of all things Left, this has to sound very short sighted. Six years ago was the time to build this pipeline, not six years from now and need anybody need reminding that back in 1972 the nation had plenty of oil coming into the country…right up until the Saudis pulled the plug.
This leads me to an argument for the pipeline I haven’t heard yet. That the oil will be flowing in these United States. What a novel idea! You mean, we get to handle the oil in this country? Why didn’t anybody think of that before? Of course, in an age long since passed in this country, we did. We called the idea "Energy Independence". Now where have I heard that term lately?
Having control of the means of power production is something every nation would desire. It’s a matter of long-term security and national survival. Who wouldn’t want this?
Obama doesn’t.
There’s nothing for the president or his cronies in having a pipeline actually produce jobs and opportunity in any region of the country that Mr. Obama and the Central Planners hadn’t put forth themselves. It wasn't his idea and I'm sure it doesn't sit well with one group of Mr. Obama's staunchest allies, the Leftist Greens.
As we have seen yet again, the Central Planners do not pick what the market will bring the people but the people will demand and The Market will deliver.
Even as solar and wind have failed to provide the needed power for future development, and as the government marches against coal and condemns Fracking even as the later has put the United States on a more secure path to energy stability and the people in the U.S. are just now reaping it's rewards of lower gas prices which benefit the lowest income stata more than any other, something has to come into the picture to put the wind back into the sails of the U.S. economy and to shore up the still very much open-ended issue of powering the nation into the future.
What will it be Mr. President?

Only the Consumer Can Save the Economy

Only Government can continue to take more and more money out of the pockets of working people and then sponsors a study, using taxpayer dollars, to study why people aren't spending.

We see this across the globe. In Japan the government has raised the sales tax on consumer goods from 5% to 8% and are now shocked, shocked I say, that the economy is doing worse!

Here in the United States the government’s fingers are in every pie and taking a buck here, $.50 there from every corner of the economy. Your gasoline, your phone bill, your cable bill, gas and electric bill, if you eat out at a restaurant, buy beer, well, everything you spend money on is that much higher because government siphons off a piece of the action.

They just never stop nickel and diming you to death.

There are other costs too. Like the cost of permits, the cost of a driver’s license, a fishing permit in Massachusetts for fresh water is $27.50. Sport fishing is $45.00. To fish in the OCEAN off of Massachusetts is $10.00.

Hunting with a gun: $27.50. With a bow: $27.50. Trapping: $35.00. These have all gone up recently. The Ocean fishing license doubled from last year. The line of defense is always: The state needs the money to manage wildlife areas. Are they managing the Ocean now too? I can’t tell the difference by looking. What was free 4 years ago is not $10.00. That’s just $10.00 less to put towards something else.

There isn’t enough space on this blog to list all the fees associated with starting and running a small business. And this is combined with taxes and insurance costs. Without small business, the country does not run. Without the ability to start a small business, a nation has three choices: Big business, which, contrary to what some people believe, are not the nation’s largest employer and cannot employ nearly enough people that need jobs. Government: Many people want the government jobs because they have great hours, great taxpayer funded benefits, oftentimes a pension plan and a lot of times pay better now than their private sector equivalent. This is especially the case for public school teachers who make crazy money in comparison to the private sector. And the third choice: Government dependency. This could also be confused with the second choice but in this case there is no return whatsoever for the money spent. This is the public assistance or welfare program.  People collecting relief.

Right now in the U.S. we have working people who qualify for and are receiving food stamps. It is estimated that 44 million people receive this assistance in this country. And it’s all coming out of the pockets of the consumer.

Oh, but spending this money is good, right?

Well, no it isn't really. Spending government money, or money taken or transferred from the taxpayer does not result in a net gain for the economy. You see, the people who transfer this money also draw a paycheck. This is called Overhead and the increased overhead that government adds to the cost of the transfer, reduces the amount of money distributed. As I have mentioned before, government does not produce wealth, it takes wealth for its projects and spending schemes. Only the private sector can produce wealth which comes to them as Profit and the best way for that to take place is to let the private citizen keep more of the money they earn so that they can make that money work for them. It is this Profit Motive that makes the world go around. Why work hard if you don't get to keep the fruits of your labor. Why transfer funds when a consumer to transact person-to-person thus reducing the overhead and saving money that can be used for other things? Why should government decide where that money can be better spent and thus defying market forces and basically just wasting it on wrong decisions? Let the consumer decide what to do with the money they earned.

Places that have done this have thrived. Like the United States itself has done…in the past.
Only the growing, grasping hands of government has interfered with the marketplace and disrupted the marketplace to a point where, after taking so much money from working people in the form of taxes, permits and licenses, they now are compelled to give some of it back in the form of public assistance programs like Food Stamps. This is insane.

Only the consumer can save the economy. Without putting the money back into the pockets of the consumer, the economies of Japan and the United States as well as Greece, Britain and Italy will continue to founder.

This isn't anything new.

Welfare States Weaken World Economies

Smoke and mirrors will only get you so far.

The European welfare state is finding that raising taxes and thereby raising the cost of doing business isn't getting them anywhere. Now there’s a shock.

By favoring big business, global governments ignore the real engine of the economy and innovation: Small business.

Microsoft didn’t start as a multinational conglomerate. Neither did IBM, NCR or Apple. They all started small as people armed only with an idea.

As I drive through my town, Obscurity, Massachusetts, and see empty strip malls and empty storefronts, I am reminded that there is no recovery here in the United States either. It’s all just borrowed money and eventually it will need to be paid back and when the person who is last in line puts their hand out and the person who is supposed to pay them has nothing to give them, this whole house of cards will come crashing down.

What we are finding out, like we needed to live through this again to know, is that a Welfare State is a weak state. People without work are people without purpose. Government can give people sustenance but they can’t give people purpose. Only a job can do that, a livelihood.

We have almost 100 million people receiving some kind of public assistance in this country and that is an obscenity to the American Dream. Does anybody else find it strange that government taxes people into dependence on the State and then gives them enough to get by? Had they left their money in their own pockets would they not be better off? But no, the money has to come from Government. You can’t just make it on your own. You NEED them and they will fulfill your needs.

It is a downward spiral of dependancy, despondency, drugs and violence.
Is it any wonder that the youth of our inner cities would trade their subsidized existence for the harsh terrain of Iraq or Afghanistan to fight for the new Islamic State? What do they have here to look forward to? They have substandard government schools, they have substandard government housing and they have substandard subsidies for food.

What difference does it make to these lost souls of the welfare state? Would they rather die out on the streets in a drug turf war or flock to the Iraqi Caliphate where at least they die fighting for something. A Purpose. A purpose in life is something the welfare state cannot give them.

A welfare state is a weak state.

Take a look at the world’s largest welfare states in the world today. They are all in a prolonged state of stagnation. Their economies are either contracting or growing at a pace that would be considered no growth in decades past. Their bureaucracies have become unwieldy and take too much from the people who actually produce. There is no glad talking this situation or fudging the numbers since one only has to drive down the street to see the reality of the situation. We are all approaching our individual “Lost Decades”.

When government becomes the arbiter of success, there is little success.

Millions of aimless people languishing in the welfare states means too many idle hands.
Will Islam finally accomplish what the old Bolsheviks of the last century had hoped for? Establish an Islamic state of their own and inspire like-minded people around the world to revolt against their governments, overthrow them and have the world become united in an Islamic Caliphate?

Why not? What is any of these governments offering today’s youth? You don't have to guess, I’ll tell you the answer: NOTHING. Nothing but debt and no means to pay it off. What our young people see is a slow, purposeless existence of the welfare state.

Steps have to be taken now or this will end badly.

The taxmen of the U.S., like Europe, lays a heavy hand on the populace and sucks the life out of our economies. Because of the government "safety net" here is no incentive to work. The national systems that the first world nations impose upon their people are wasteful, full of fraud and are without transparency. They answer to no one. This increases people’s powerlessness but also leads to their disenfranchisement.

Government must stop it's wasteful practices, get out of the healthcare, education and lending businesses, cut taxes, de-regulate business and put money back into the people’s pockets and end their controls or disorder will ensue. We will all pay a high price.

The welfare state has to be ended and people must learn to fend for themselves. The slaves have learned to love their slavery but no nation can continue to give services and taxpayer money away for free to anyone with a want.

Just as a union shop cannot compete with a non-union right-to-work business, a  welfare state cannot compete with an economy based on self-reliance and personal achievement.

Money should be earned. And money earned is the property of the person who earned it. Without the work/reward system, the world stops turning.

The evidence is everywhere.

When Will Germany’s Debt Be Paid?

Sixty-eight years after the end of World War II, how much more time must pass before Germany can outlive it’s warring past?

If Greece had their way, that would be never. The Greeks just want Germany to just pay and pay. And to whom will the money go? Well, to Greece, of course!

Even though a settlement was reached in 1960, the now flat busted, irresponsible and child-like people of Greece want Germany to pay up again. This time they want 160 Million Euros to make amends. This fabulous amount of money is, coincidentally, roughly the amount Greece is in the hole financially for their wanton, frivolous and corrupt collective behavior. Well how about that!?
This is what Germany gets for trying to help bail out Greece in the first place. That’ll teach them. No good deed goes unpunished.

How come Greece doesn’t go after Italy for money? After all, they fought Italy in the war too. Oh, that’s right I forgot, Italy’s broke too. Can’t get blood out of a stone!

And what if Germany did pay up and Greece got the money? They would only piss it away again without a second thought. Not a debt would be paid, not a lesson would be learned. Does anyone believe otherwise? Don't be a sucker.
Greece’s public sector bloat is the stuff of public labor union leftist LEGEND. At one time public sector wages accounted for 27% of all government expenditures. I'm sure that figure did not include the pension liability either. Education and healthcare is also publicly funded.  That's a lot of green being sucked out of the economy annually without the production to back it up.

Even throughout the last four years of austerity, the Greek government has resisted any cuts to its public sector while its taxpaying private enterprises took the brunt of cuts and layoffs. They have not taken one voluntary step in the right direction for their own nation. That would be called "taking responsibility for ones actions" and there's too little of that around the world these days.

And the Greeks really know how to sweet talk a nation that has something they don’t IE: Money. The Greeks have been over the top in their rhetoric and public scorn aimed at Germany and its role in the bailout and the imposition of austerity measures. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been parodied and insulted in numerous ways by politician and pedestrian alike for the crime of leading a country that remains industrious and prosperous while they, the Greeks, are not and haven’t been for some time.
Greece is what you get when you have people depend on big government for their daily bread. Greece is, sadly, a country that only has history to look towards to see how proud they used to be.

All this must be seriously tiresome to the German people if they’re paying attention to this at all. How many times can Germany’s 20 something’s, two generations removed from the war, have to listen to the Nazi and Hitler references, the continued drumbeat of past atrocities and blame for something they only have read in history books and heard told by old timers? I am not without empathy for their position since I have never owned a slave or oppressed an indian but continue to hear about it like thos things were my fault. Why should the German citizenry have to put up with this crap especially from jealous grasping spendthrifts like the Greeks?
It is asking a lot of the German taxpayer to fund yet another bailout of people who don’t care an nth about them and won’t change their ways? Hmmm, that sounds really familiar…

If it were up to me, I’d forget about giving Greece any more money. They have no intention of paying what they've already received back anyway so it’s like throwing money into the street. Let the industrious nations of the world not drown themselves attempting to rescue people who don’t know enough to come in from the rain. They've spent plenty of money already.

In other words, tell Greece to blow. Let them solve their own problems!

The Decline and Fall of the American Socialist System

Rather than recent events being a triumph of the Leftist agenda to transfer the assets of successful people to those less successful and of Governments attempts to gain unrestricted control of the nation’s economy, we are actually seeing the final downfall of Socialism in the world.
Much like other totalitarian regimes before it, the takeover of the Federal aspect of the United States by the Liberal Left is failing just ahead of what many are pointing to as its greatest triumph: Total responsibility for what is produced and not produced in the nation.

Of course this all hasn’t happened overnight. Economic historians can point to Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal and broad powers of administration for not defeating the depression but prolonging it by almost a decade. Imagine what would have only lasted 3 or 4 years was stretched by bad policy to 13 years. Then WWII came along and we HAD to dedicate resources to making stuff again. But that demand came without the means of actually paying for it so the debts began to pile up.
Later President Lyndon Banes Johnson provided us with The Great Society, a war on poverty in America! But as always happens, his war on poverty only cause poverty to increase. The rewards for not being successful started to gain on the rewards of actually being successful. Coupling this with the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s really was a wealth of positive information for the Socialist Left of this nation: They discovered that they could make the slaves love their slavery.

These “Movements” have nothing to do with actually taking care of people or caring for their economic situation or even “Fairness” since statistically their situation overall doesn’t improve. It only means that the beneficiaries of the Welfare State don’t have to work as hard or educate themselves to stay where they are. And it’s all about making people happy to be where they are even if it’s comfortably poor. These people actually think they’re getting away with something. The joke is on them.
But at any rate, bad policy takes decades to manifest itself in the shaping of the collectivist mind, the attitude that the common good outweighs the rights and successes of the individual. What’s yours is also mine. It’s that air of entitlement that the left needs so much to drive its mobs of newly uneducated.

This is why it was imperative to take over the National School System and to buy its way into public media, to control the message and to control the mind.
So now they have 51% of the vote. But here is the fatal flaw in their newest plan: It Doesn’t Work!

It can’t work. Every new set of Leftists throughout the recent history of Karl Marx think that this NEXT TIME will work, that every time before there was something done wrong and that THIS TIME they will make it work. They will take from the successful and buy their influence with the majority of less successful or just plain unsuccessful. Of course government has helped those less fortunate from actually being successful in so many ways by controlling access to capital, providing the standard, sub-standard education and by taxing money out of your pocket so that you can’t do anything with it yourself. BUT they’ll lend your money back to you if you want to go to college. Just as long as it’s the government hand you go running to for your sustenance, it’s good.
But subsequently the Left is always doomed to failure unless they can force you to stay and take it. This is why the Soviet Union had to build wall around the entire country and put people with guns in towers. But even doing that, people never stopped trying and dying to reach the other side of that wall. Why? Because they’d rather die than live the way they were living.  And this is the end-game of all totalitarian Marxist regimes.: Shortages, Hardship and Financial Ruin.

When have you ever heard of a CAPITALIST PURGE? Never? That’s because freedom doesn’t need a purge. Joseph Stalin is “credited” with killing up to 50 MILLION Russian people during his bloody reign. Mao Tse-tung? He leads the way with up to 70 MILLION Chinese people. Then there was Pol Pot who only managed to kill 2 Million Vietnamese in his quest for a Communist farming society.
And who did these purges target? Smart People! If you had any brains or education you were TOAST! They didn’t want a guy/gal like you around telling people things. You were out in a bad way.

Knowing this, how can anybody speak in admiration of these killers? Yet Mao and Stalin are actually revered by the left. The Chinese totalitarian regime, though decidedly more Capitalist than Communist is still a totalitarian regime. No one has a vote and no one gets to decide how they are to be governed. They are told what to do and what to make. The government decides what it wants and it takes it. Just ask the people of Tibet. Way to go China!
But ultimately the Socialist Systems always crumble because they lack imagination and the freedom to pursue an idea. An idea like a personal computer or a new way of drawing oil from a place previously thought impossible. A Socialist System cannot think like this. It draws resources but cannot replace what it has taken nor increase its production since many times it will make what people don’t want. It ignores the Strongest Force in the World: The Market. And without that swirling force of ideas, risk, failures and triumphs, Socialism cannot stand.

So as of right now, The Federal Government has spent 17 times the country’s Gross National Product and has nothing to show for it. It has artificially held up its public workforce with tax money that has yet to be earned. But even the United States cannot defy gravity. Now Obama’s government owns the economy. Who can they blame?
It’s a shame that freedom loving peoples all over the world have to endure such misguided ideology and hardship but such is freedom that it has to be savored and revered to survive. It’s when people trade their freedom for the promise of a Pot o’ Gold is where the figure of man so imperfect still stumbles from time to time.

People will find alternatives. They'll join the underground economy and step away from the taxed goods. They'll vote with their feet and the successful will move to the red states. The country will stratify and there will be successful states and very, very unsuccessful states. The Federal overlords will eventually capitulate to the forces of the Market since the Government will be totally broke and the dependent class without it's mother's milk.

The wheels are already in motion.

Left Wing Nuts Come Out for Thanksgiving

Yes, I get it, Columbus was a killer. The difference between him and a thousand or so other people who landed on the north American continent back in the day was that Columbus made the new world pay. He found the gold and he found the slave trade. Ok, so now what?
This is the time of year where, perhaps emboldened by another four years of an Obama administration that is all for the tearing down long standing “White European” traditions, whatever they are, where everybody and their immigrant uncle rails against Thanksgiving and Christmas. While they’re at it they should unearth the truth about Plymouth Rock, the Liberty Bell and the Tooth Fairy.

I’ll have to say that 1492 was a long time ago yet I can’t get enough of hearing about how ruthless post Renaissance “Euro-Whitey” came over and exploited, deceived and murdered millions of peaceful, communal and environmentally friendly indigenous peoples of both South and North America.
Now I realize that one cannot discover a new land when there are already people living on it. It seems to me that the people living there must have discovered it first but I’m just plain tired of hearing about it over and over again every year. It’s really just annoying and it’s HISTORY.

My ancestors, the CELTS, were murdered, enslaved and walled off by the Romans. The Irish had the crap kicked out of them by the VIKINGS and were starved by the ENGLISH not half as long ago as when Columbus did his dirty work for crying out loud. When do we stop carping about the past and move on with our lives and our civilization?
One of the statistics of the “New World” was that 90% of the indigenous population did not die from a bullet. Most of the Indians died of disease. Smallpox, a former scourge of human existence everywhere from the beginning of human history and which was finally eradicated from the world only in 1978, killed 1/3 of the population of Boston in 1730 and again in 1740. It generally killed one out of three Europeans it infected.  Do you hazard a guess as to the percentage of Indians it killed? Smallpox killed 98% of infected Indians. Sometimes it killed 100%. Disease killed entire villages, some who never even had a chance to lay their eyes on a white man, their bones littering the ground because there was no one left alive to bury them.

The difference was that the Europeans were living in the filth of their pack animals. They slept with them for warmth and caught their bovine and swine flus and the survivors built up immunities. The Indians of the Americas had no such animals and no such immunities. I don’t know what could have changed this fact.
If it wasn't Columbus who came over and went “Achoo!” then it would have been someone else.
Perhaps an African, they got around in those days too. But it was inevitable that it was going to happen and I suppose it would be somebody else’s name these people would be cursing. Perhaps it would've been a guy named “Clarence”, “Clarence the Killer!”

And the idea of the “Noble Savage” is a bigger myth than that big “Euro-Whitey” Paul Bunyan and his big blue ox. The tribes were in a state of almost constant warfare with each other and the local indian tribe, the Wampanoag, originally embraced the Pilgrims in the hopes that they would help them in their efforts to repel the aggressive Narragansett of the Rhode Island territory.
The Incas and Aztecs were cannibals who practiced in ritual human sacrifice. There is also archeological evidence that the Native Americans of Arizona and New Mexico also ate human flesh.

In his 1586 memoir, "The True History of the Conquest of Mexico", published in 1632, Bernal Diaz del Castillo, a man who actaully marched with  Cortez during the 1520 Spanish conquest of Mexico, describes scenes of ritual sacrifice that are astounding in their scope and savagery. It is one of the world’s great works and everyone should read it.
This is history warts and all and the history of America, like the hisotries of most countries, is the history of conquest. What land has not been taken from another? And the conquerors will not hold it forever either since someone else will surely come along and lay claim to what is under our feet.

But stop whining about it. It isn’t going to change. If you’re looking for a handout, perhaps you’ll get one but if you aren’t, just let it go already and move on.
Everybody knows what happened and its all water under the bridge. Nobody living in the U.S. now has ever owned a slave or oppressed an Indian. People like having a day of Thanksgiving and don't give a rat's patoot what the real origin of the day is.

This act is growing tiresome. Get a job!

Obama Doesn’t Understand Business

Each debate paints a more cohesive picture in regard to President Obama's business acumen.

He has none.

It’s clear he doesn’t know the difference between Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy code. And neither do many of the people who will vote for him again as president.
The President didn’t “Save” General Motors. General Motors filed Chapter 11, a legal motion to restructure its debt and to reach new agreements with its creditors and contracts with its unions. The only change that occurs is the terms of the company’s debt and so business continues. The company does not get liquidated and disappear. So to say the government saved General Motors is not the truth. What the government did by buying into GM was to save the GM Union from having to take a step back from the crazy money they make and the sumptuous benefits they enjoy. And all at the expense of the people who invested their money in the company. It's the GM shareholders: retirees, town governments and regular people, who got the shaft on their investments when the government voided their stock holdings. This is what the Obama administration did. And General Motors, despite of what you may hear, isn't out of the woods as far as it's solvency is concerned, they still have a flawed business structure which it has yet to address.

President Obama is counting on the American people not to know the difference between Chapters 7 and 11 also.
But other aspects of the economy and business seem to either elude or just doesn’t have an effect on the President’s policies toward a vibrant economic recovery for the nation.

Regulating business: The cost of doing business in this country is high. There are permits and restrictions on business, some good and some bad but all cost money and contribute to overhead.

And who bears the costs of compliance with all these State and Federal regulations? The businesses themselves, of course. All businesses have to hire their own people to make sure that they are in compliance with all the articles of regulation and tax that they are responsible for.  There is no write-off for these expenditures. They're expenditures.

It's not just an issue of good business practices, some of these regulations are out of control like the Americans with Disabilities Act which almost closed every public pool in the state of Massachusetts this Summer before it was put on hold, required all public pools to have a lift to transport disabled people into and out of the pool. A nice idea but so costly that the pools had decided that it was better to just close. The requirement has not gone away, it’s just on hold. There is also the provision in the ADA that requires public buildings to have elevators if there is a second floor. Elevators are very costly to purchase, install and maintain. This is a prohibitive sum in purchase and maintenance costs.
There are also permits, insurance, certification and licensing to starting a business that have become a burden to the point that many businesses cannot become legitimate in the eyes of government and remain thus restricted and under the table.

Then there are the taxes. The Federal tax rate on business runs from 15% to 35%. Then there are the State taxes, local property taxe, taxes on income, sales and even exise taxes on unsold inventory. There are taxes on utility bills, phone bills, shipping and purchasing. Add to that unemployement taxes, workers compensation taxes and the cost of offering a subsidy for health insurance for employees.
All this contributes to a businesses’ “Overhead” or the cost of doing business before they collect a penny in sales.

Currently the climate for American business is bad based on all of the above.

The more overhead, the less profit. The less profit, the less expansion. The less expansion, the less hiring. The less hiring, the less payroll and income taxes that are collected. It is an inevitable downward spiral of Socialism. There is no balance, only eventual failure.
Mitt Romney has proposed to drop some of this overhead. Obama isn’t on board with that right now, he's got a big government to feed.

President Obama believes if the government buys enough Chevy Volts that General Motors will become solvent. He also believes that if the government spends enough money, the economy will turn around. They also believe that by the Federal Reserve purchasing mortgage debt with printed money and deficit spending, that this will help lift up a sagging economy.
Does anybody believe this will happen?

The more taxes and fees go up, the more businesses that will close under the pressure and the less money gets collected. The government; Federal, State and Local have many mouths to feed. If tax revenues fall, these governing bodies will have to start letting some people go.
This they should understand.

With the governments faith in the so called “Green Business” to the tune of handing out hundreds of millions of dollars in support money starting to show real collapse and failure, one can draw the clear conclusion that government interference in the marketplace is never a good idea.
This particular failure falls squarely on the shoulders of the Obama administration.

In order to support business one must know what it takes to run a business and there are few in the current administration that have done that. Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner is one and President Obama is another. Vice President Joe Biden is yet another. Together they have zero business experience, being mainly long time bureaucrats, and it shows in their understanding of the country’s economy and business atmosphere. This is not an encouraging scenario.
And here we are. Do you go to the guy who’s had a business for a job or do you go to a guy who’s never had a business and who’s only jobs were on the public payrolls?

So what’s the answer?
