The Kurds Pay for Their Ambitions

It seems an improbable scenario that the Kurds would be able to establish and manage to actually keep a part of three established countries in order to manufacture their own country.

There was never really a "Kurdistan". And there never will be in our lifetimes considering the massive issues involved in such an undertaking. The Kurds not only want their own state...somewhere. They want a part of Turkey, a part of Syria and a part of Iraq. And that's a king-sized pipe dream no matter who you think can make it happen.

This wishful thinking by the Kurds that the United States will use it's might and power to establish for them and thus be involved in defending into perpetuity, a Kurdish state in this manner should be looked upon by all as, at best, a bad gamble.

And brow-beating President Trump in the press isn't going to help the situation much.

If the Kurds didn't want to get slaughtered by the Turkish army, perhaps they shouldn't have blown up all those people in Turkey. I'm sure plenty of innocent Turkish citizens have been killed since the The Kurdistan Workers Party aka the PKK, a Marxist group by the way, started their Militant Armed Insurgency inside Turkey in 1984.

But nobody seems to care about them now.

This isn't the reason why the Turks hate the Kurds since that history goes way back but it is the reason why Turkish forces have been chaffing at the bit to finally go after them in a big way. They have been stymied by the politics of the Syrian Civil War and the intervention in it of the United States which then drew the forces of Iran and Russia into the conflict. And let's not forget that President Barack Obama was behind the arming of the ISIL forces and other militant Islamic factions in Syria. That helped a whole lot.

Thanks Mr. Obama!

At any rate, Turkey most likely has had it with the situation and have at least warned the U.S. about what they were going to do. It's their region of the world, not ours. If we left our small force in the way of the Turkish offensive, what good would that have done? Did we want to instigate World War III by letting our men and women stay where they were and dare Turkey to go over or around them?

In a region of the world we had no right to be in the first place?

Keep in mind that Turkey is a contracted ally. For what it is, they are in NATO with us and host U.S. military installations. There is an expectation of cooperation in matters such as this. Although a faction of the Kurds has fought on the side of the U.S., another faction is bombing Turkish government and civilian locations. So what's the good answer to that?

The politics of the issue and the bottom line is that it was never really our fight. It's yet another internal struggle we would be forcing ourselves into like Libya and Syria and frankly setting up and holding a Kurdish state is an impossibility. None of the three countries involved would put up with it and "Kurdistan" would find itself under assault on three fronts. Good luck with that. Like Medicaid for All, there isn't enough money in the world to hold such bad ground. Just because they want it, doesn't mean it's going to happen and the Middle East is full of factions who's abilities do not come close to matching their ambitions.

The Kurds are no different. They could try a more political approach since their violence has only been returned to them in spades.

It is not the job of the United States to spend the money and spill the blood for every group that puts on airs and thinks they're entitled to their own piece of turf at the expense of others and the sooner the world figures it out the better off it will be.

Baltimore is a Dump!

And for as long as I can remember, Baltimore has had the reputation of being a "bad neighborhood".  I don't drive by the city often but I can't help but see it from Interstate RT-95 when I'm on my way back from somewhere else. I always take a long look at the place.

And I shudder. Who can imagine living there?

Baltimore Maryland is a perpetual welfare city. According to the national census, Maryland is the country's richest state with a median income of $69,272.00 per person so imagine what that means when you factor in the poorest city in the country!

Did I mention that the current Mayor of Baltimore, Bernard Young, is a Democrat? I think the last Republican to run the city was in 1967.

The last Mayor of Baltimore, Catherine Pugh, also a Democrat, was forced to resign due to a corruption scandal involving a children's book she 'wrote" and coerced the city school system to purchase. It wasn't much of a book but it was a hell of a crime.

Maryland also has a Democrat for a Governor, Larry Hogan. I don't much about him since, I really don't pay much attention to the state in general since I would never think of setting foot there for any reason. It's just a name on a map to me. Sorta like say, Suriname, a place that might as well be on the moon. The only time you hear of such places is when bad things happen there.

Way back in the late 1980s I had a co-worker who was originally from North Carolina but he and his young wife moved to Baltimore, to start their life together. He was not familiar with the place but thought, since they were in their early 20s, that the city was a place they could build a life together.

But there was no work. Neither could get a job. Their money quickly ran out and they applied for public assistance. They were assigned an apartment. When they looked at the place, it was filthy, in a run-down building in a seedy area of the city. But they were stuck and had to make the most of it. The place was roach infested. When they started to clean the place up, he told me, there was a taped up cardboard box in a corner of the room. When he picked it up, the bottom fell out and "about 2000 cockroaches" hit the floor and scattered in all directions. He and his wife shared their first Baltimore freak-out during their eventful but short stay in that building. There was more but you get the picture.

What that lead to was the two of them frantically calling any relative and extended family member they could recall in the hopes that one of them would let them stay with them for even just a little while. One of them, who worked with me, told them that if they could get there, they could stay with him for as long as it took to get settled. He told me they each packed one bag and went straight to the highway and thumbed the first truck that would take them closer to Massachusetts and farther away from Maryland.

When the truck driver dropped them off at our towns highway rest-stop on Interstate RT-495, he drove off with their luggage and disappeared into the night. But that incident did not offset the relief they felt for finally getting out of Baltimore.

Since that time Baltimore has gotten worse.

Baltimore is a city of stark contrasts, the have's and the have-nots, empty buildings that serve as drug shooting-galleries a block away from a posh neighborhood, poor schools and poor people a block away from good schools and rich neighborhoods. Employment in much of the city is public employment since businesses are reluctant to move in.

People who live in Baltimore will tell you that there are a lot of great places to go there, museums, restaurants, art centers and other attractions.

But they will also warn you to be aware of your surroundings when out and not to walk and talk on your cell phone in public since this automatically makes you a target. They will also tell you to simply expect things to be stolen off of your porch and to not leave items visible in your car when you park. They will mention that your home insurance should cover break-ins. Everyone there will acknowledge that the crime rate is very high punctuated by a lot of shootings.

In 2017, there were a reported 343 murders in Baltimore but the good news is that it dropped in 2018 to 309.

But that could be anywhere in the country, right?

Since the Freddy Gray incident, where six Baltimore policemen were put on trial for the negligent homicide of Mr. Gray whom they left unsecured with his hands cuffed behind his back in the police vehicle and who subsequently died as a result of falling against the door handle, arrests have gone down and crime has gone up.

People there warn you not to come. Don't take my word for it, Google "Moving to Baltimore" and see what that gets you. Oh, there's some fake news out there but you'll know the real stuff when you read it.

All the money Baltimore gets in Federal Aid doesn't seem to help things. That's because the money isn't there to actually help people, it's good jobs at good wages for the people who dole it all out. Those are the people the money is for.

Nothing seems to get better in Baltimore.

Making the NFL History

Its not about the protests since I stopped watching the National Football League ages ago. It isn't about Colin Kaepernick, the catalyst for the flag protests during the playing of our national anthem, signing a major advertising deal with major major NFL advertiser Nike, since I've also never owned a pair of their shoes or bought any of their athletic wear.

This is really all a distraction from the main problem of American Football and how it has "evolved".

It's all about the Destruction.

American Football destroys the people who play it.

You just don't see the level of catastrophic injury in other sports. It's not even close. American Football is Weaponized Sport. You get hit in other sports but you don't get blasted by someone wearing the sporting equivalent of armor plate. Where other sports wear helmets for protection, in the NFL they wear them for striking. Helmets started out as protection and then they became something other.

But then the game really took off in popularity.

Perhaps its our war-like nature. Football fits into that. It's the taking of "territory" on offense, it's the defense "shutting down" an opponent. There is the field "generalship" displayed by the quarterback and the "coaching discipline" exercised by the coach. It's smashing people in the mouth and "spectacular" open field hits that leave an opposing player lying on the field. Oh, people feel bad when it happens but that's what they came for. What did they think was going to happen? People are not indestructible.

And the NFLs greatest stars are getting destroyed. Some show it immediately but most show it over time.

Winning and Losing are part of life's lessons and there's nothing wrong with wanting to win, working to win and, of course, winning. But "Dominance" is a key factor in the NFL, more so. in my humble opinion, than in other sports. There are sports people who exhibit dominance in their fields but its more about their consistency of victory an not the ferocity of how they play the game. They can be described as "smelling blood in the water" on the verge of victory but if, say, there is a stringed racket involved, nobody's going to get hurt beyond a pulled hamstring.

In pro football, the opponent must be vanquished in dominant fashion.

The NFL is a gladiatorial vestige of our ancient past that should be buried in the sands of time.

There is a time where all sports, no matter how wildly popular they were, run their course. Before Baseball, Football and Basketball, Cycling was the biggest sport in the world. Boxing was HUGE and Track & Field heavily bet upon. Horse Racing was also big, big, big.

But although these sports are still around to some extent, they aren't nearly the events they were. People's sporting tastes change and they find other sporting interests and there are plenty more to choose from today. Many of them way less destructive than bashing your brains out on the "Grid-Iron". The trick now is to get the television networks, fully in bed with the big money sports, to put them on the air on a regular basis.

And, let's face it, the dominance of football as a national sport is only perpetuated by acts of Congress who have granted the NFL, along with other major sports, exemptions from the rules of business that give them "Not For Profit" status and exemptions from Anti-Trust laws. This gave them leverage to make massive deals with the national television networks that allow the "major" sports to dominate the airwaves. But if interest in the NFL falls hard, the networks will have to look for new alternatives.

So regardless of whether you are put off by the protests, the decades of lying about long-term injury, the long-term injuries themselves, the DRUGS, the cozy business dealings or just the big money marketing bullshit and crass commercialism of the National Football League you can find other sporting interests. Since other sports don't get much air time, you don't know what you're missing.

If you want to see people destroy themselves for entertainment, well there it is, but if you are growing increasingly uncomfortable with the idea of the results of the game, you have alternatives. You don't have to watch catastrophic personal destruction to be entertained.

People who play sports get injured but the NFL makes commonplace what in other sports is a rarity and in most sport unheard of.

And now all the years of covering such things up and the bubble of belief in the sport is coming to it's end.

I wouldn't miss the NFL one second if it should disappear tomorrow.

Alex Jones is a Crazy Person

If you listen to this guy speak for 5 minutes, you just get the feeling that something is wrong with him. Sure he's "Conservative' I guess. So what? So he's a Conservative Crazy person and a self-promoting Show Boat on top of that. I don't know who he thinks he's speaking for but he's not speaking for me.

Youtube and Facebook can do what they want. If they boot Mr. Jones for content they don't like, they have every right to do so because it's THEIR site. Alex Jones doesn't pay to have his stuff on either site. It's free but it's not free because yes you can post stuff on there but if they don't like it, they can take it down. It's their site.

Alex Jones should just pony up the dough and get his own website. That way he can post all his crazy talk on his own site without further issue. That is the American Way.

I don't listen to Alex Jones because, to me, the content of his broadcasts is the ravings of a madman. He's almost as crazy as that guy Mark Levin. Levin is as Mad as a Hatter.

I can't listen to either of these guys for more than a minute. When they are on I ALMOST want to listen to a sports channel but instead I just turn the radio off.

It's like Mr. Jones and Mr. Levin want to get you into a fight. They want you to go running into the streets in outrage over the latest perceived (by them) slight. THEY are your Arbiters of Outrage. You don't have to think, let THEM tell you what to get your nose bent out of shape for. I don't know about you but I'd find this act exhausting after awhile. If I didn't think is was a put-on in the first place, which I do.

It makes me miss the late great David Brudnoy on Boston Radio station WBZ so very much. He had something neither of these guys have and that's called CLASS. He could so eloquently refer to a certain group as "Barbarians" you would just nod your head and smile because with one word, he had defined them. Friend and foe alike respected his opinion. He had well thought out ideas and logical arguments. When he made a point, you were hard pressed to talk your way out of it.

No bluster, no name calling, no grand standing, no anger and it was not an act.

In other words, everything opposite of what is going on today in the radio wars for the hearts and minds of the the voting citizen (and voting, driver's license holding non-citizen).

Today's Talk Radio

The so called Conservative radio of today is so boring. I can do a talk radio show today easy. Here's my opening line:

"Did you hear what the New York Times said about Donald Trump?"

Every phone line will light up.

"The latest from The Huffington Post will shock you!"

Call the advertisers and tell them we're raising our rates!

Anyone who calls one of these shows has rocks in their heads but apparently people have nothing better to do with their time than to wait on hold in order to be used as fodder for the host. It's their time so what can you do but marvel at the self-importance. I suggest that instead of listening to this poorly thought out ploy, the radio equivalent of click-bait, you either should go to bed with a good book or go to bed with somebody who's read one.

Go and live your life and put the phone down, cancel your Facebook page, you Linkedin page, your Twitter account and stay the hell away from social media and talk radio. You'll have so much more time for yourself and your real, live social circle.

You'll be glad you did.

U.S. Will Always Win a Trade War

This is a war China cannot win. Neither will Canada and neither will Mexico.

We were already losing the trade war when President Trump decided it was time to correct decades of trade missteps that cost the American consumer to the benefit of everybody else in an effort to gain 'good relations".

Well, screw that!

Now is the time to fix things and if the other nations don't want to renegotiate, well things are going to get tough...for them! We're running too many trade imbalances to remain polite. Not that our "Allies" have remained polite because they have not.

Don't let the hand wringing in the Leftist Press fool you, the U.S. is in great shape going into this trade war and regardless of all the defeatist talking down from the Democratic Party, the United States is going to put a hurt on the world if our trading "Allies" don't come back to the bargaining table.

The United States is the number one economy in the world. China is the 2nd but they are a distant second. Japan is the third biggest but they are a close third to China. Any slide by China and they're back to third place.

What these countries will do is pay the higher price. What the United States will do is buy local and pay the price also.

The difference is that the United States produces things that people around the world would rather have compared to their local product. What we will find in this contest is how much the U.S. product is valued around the world. Maybe patriotism will skew the numbers but not in the long run. And yes, this could take some time.

So let's take Kentucky Bourbon for instance. I'm sure China's version will be satisfactory to the growing affluent populace that craves high end booze. Or, perhaps, the Chinese populace that craves the real stuff will just pony up the dough and pay the extra money. What do you think will happen?

They will pay the extra money.

On the other hand, we don't need Chinese booze or their steel.

We may pay more for U.S steel, but we have the money. If we suddenly find that the local product is the same price as the import, we'll pay for the better product at the same price.

Yes, we'll have less money to spend or spend more for the product but we HAVE IT. What other countries around the world will not have is access to the largest group of mindless consumers in the history of the world up to this point. Fast forward 100 years and we STILL will have the largest group of mindless consumers in the history of the world.

Consumers in other countries are living in the Dark Ages. They still use faculties like Discretion and Logic when it comes to their purchases. They carefully mull over what they want and figure out the best product for the best price. But here in the U.S. we'll buy just about anything regardless of whether we can even PAY for it or not. All we know is that we want it.

And isn't that enough?

Who buys millions of $ 20.00 fish lures that twitch and makes buzzing sounds to, maybe, attract more fish? We do. Who pays $ 50.00 for a PILLOW, as in the popular American product "My Pillow"? We do!

Who made former heavyweight champion boxer George Forman a multi, multi millionaire by buying his electric hamburger grill?

We did!!

And why? We don't know!

Did this crazy shit happen in Russia? No. Germany? No. England? Nope!

It all happened in the United States. Why?

Because we'll buy anything!

And we also make at least 75% of all the good stuff in the world. Movies you want to see, cars you want to drive, booze you want to drink and other stupid crap you really shouldn't buy in the first place. But there it is.

We don't need YOUR stupid crap, we've got enough of our own.

But the rest of the world is catching up to mindless consumerism. They've developed a taste for Crown Royal, Jack Daniels and wines of Napa Valley. Bejing Bourbon just doesn't quite make it compared to the real deal from Kentucky. So if the price goes up, they're just going to pay it.

The corn produced in Iowa is a superior product. The U.S. is the world's leading producer. And it's a staple. You need corn, you need corn so you'll pay the higher price. That's just the way it is.

It's all passed along to the consumer. Yes, during a trade war the consumer loses.

But the United States will not.

Hey Senator Corker...Screw You!

Get lost Corker!

We don't need this GOP establishment obstructionist IMP hanging around spouting his "I'm a monument of maturity" bullshit when he hasn't uttered a peep worth printing or done a thing in the senate worth measure in 8 Goddamned years. Just who does he think he is now?

Donald Trump asked him twice to run again for senator and he refused. I don't know why Trump asked him once. Senator Corker, the alleged Republican from Tennessee is not running in 2018 and so what? Hopefully we'll get someone who'll actually vote for a bill that will provide the American Taxpayer a break. And if a Democrat gains his seat, who would be able to tell the difference anyway? Good-bye Corker and good riddance.

Repeal the Affordable Care Act like you've been going on about for the last 8 years?...nah. Vote for Tax Reform to spur economic growth and get small business back in business again?...nah, not if Donald Trump is going to sign it.

And that's what it's really all about isn't it?

Screw this jerk Corker! He's using words to describe President Trump that he has never used to describe the previous president...er, what's his name? What a hypocrite.

The only fighting words I've ever heard come out of Senator Bob Corkers mouth in the last 8 years is when he's going after the president of his own party! What bravery in the face of adversity! Why, he's a HERO...to CNN and NPR!

Funny how the Republicans only now seem to have grown a backbone when it comes to keeping the economic scourge of the Affordable Care Act tamping down the growth of small business or when it comes to keeping taxpayers hands off of their own money. Is the status quo what they are now champions of?

Vote for the Republican ticket and keep everything the same! Same expensive, crappy healthcare! Same high taxes! And all the opiods you want!

Sounds like a winner.

The new slogan can go something like this: If the Democrats are too weak to fight Trump, then by God we will!

The GOP plan is to not pass any legislation that Donald Trump has campaigned on. They are going to fight tooth and nail to keep things the way they are no matter what the American people, the people who elected Donald Trump, think. That'll be a lesson for all you voters who actually thought you had a say in U.S. governance. Well guess what? You don't! Now shut up and sit down!

Bob Corker only represents the glaring problem of our one party system. He is the best example of what's wrong in our government and how these people have separated themselves from the desires of the people. Corker represents the problem, not the solution.

The outgoing senator's sudden stand and combative rhetoric are not the actions of a person willing to work towards a common goal with the leader of his party. We need new people in the GOP who actually want to work for the country instead of worrying about getting along with that OTHER Socialist group in American government, namely the Democratic Party.

It is Senator Corker who is out of step with what the American people want and who has lost sight of who he's working for and why. I'm glad you're going Mr. Corker because it's clearly time to go and I only wish you could take Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell with you.

Much like Hillary Clinton, the nation will be 100% better of without Bob Corker, period.

Government Scientists March for Government Science

There was a march in Washington, DC, the Boston Common and other places around the nation to declare freedom for science. But how free can science be if the government is funding it?

The claim is that they are marching to prevent government interference in science but it’s really that the NEW government does not wish to continue funding this particular propaganda cycle of Global Climate Warming Change since, after 30 years of this bullshit, people still aren’t buying the fear.

This accusation of “increasing attacks on science” is really just an attempt by the government owned science community to remain on the public gravy train and to once again proclaim that they are anything but props in the government political machine of the last administration.

“It’s not about the current administration,” said co-organizer and PUBLIC health researcher Caroline Weinberg. “The truth is we should have been marching for science 30 years ago, 20 years, 10 years ago…The current situation took us from kind of ignoring science to blatantly attacking it.”

But it IS, indeed, about the current administration because the “scientific community” has said nothing over the last 30 years since their message was the government’s message. What did science matter then? They were both on the same page and what a lucrative page it has been!

But now, the government, is not.

Oh, it was a good living for all these educated “science guys”, the ones who would roll out studies every other year of how: coffee is good for you,/coffee is bad for you/coffee is good for you, butter is bad for you/butter is good for you, cholesterol is killing you/cholesterol isn’t killing you.  All important stuff to our daily lives as if anyone ever had given up coffee based on such ground breaking scientific research. And on the other hand we hear not a word about all the crap producers are putting into the food.

And clearly the biggest money maker out of all this science has been: The world is getting warmer, and warmer, and warmer, global warming is man-made, global warming is now climate change and it’s a global crisis, that it is almost too late and we’re almost at the tipping point if we don’t do something NOW about it so run, run out into the street and shout to the world that this must be stopped as if any government, in their modern and established pomposity and egotism, can do ANYTHING to change the weather.

Just ask China how that's going.

The United States government, like I’m sure many First World countries, pays very well for research, especially research that supports the particular agendas of these administrations. What are all the so called “Climate Scientists” going to do now?

They may have to “choke”, get a real job!

There is no mandate in the United States Constitution that the federal government HAS to fund scientific research. There is no law behind this taxpayer funded entitlement. The government funds scientific research for many purposes and one cannot escape that some of this funding is for political purposes. Funding a “scientific project” at a college in a Senator’s district was always a reward for good behavior and a plum and having a “scientific finding” to counter a detractor’s research to muddy the waters is also a helpful thing to have.

We see this with the Climate Cabal where past respected organizations like NASA and NOAA confirm as fact mere conjecture put out for political motives.

If it wasn’t for the political activism and yes, the religious fanaticism of these scientists on "what to do" about the weather, the public would not have lost faith in what they say in the first place.

The partisan actions of these propagandists have been repeatedly exposed in their efforts to fudge the climate numbers that abet the global effort by their government benefactors to grab an even bigger slice of the private sector revenue, to take an even bigger role in the determination of the means of production and as a result rob the working class of even more resources thus rendering us all less and less free.

These same “scientists” would not shed a tear over the loss of our freedom of self-determination. They only cry now over the loss of their role in the efforts to control the narrative. Oh, and they'll miss the money!

Without their credibility, these "learned men and women" are useless and in reality when the government REALLY wants something they can use, they just BUY it from a private party.

Although the government did fund the development of computers at certain stages, they weren’t invented in government funded facilities. Neither was the stage rocket, the gasoline engine, electricity, the electric light bulb, direct or alternating current, the electric engine, the airplane or any other useful item to the government. They waited until an entrepreneurial spirit invented it and then they BOUGHT it.

In other words, they relied on a Free Market system of product development because back in those days they actually felt they had a limited amount of money and were still careful about how much paper money they printed. There may have even been a feeling of responsibility to the public trust but the Lord only knows when that disappeared or if it ever existed.

It is time to get these educated welfare recipients and government yes men/women off of the public pay rolls and the sooner the better. They should actually have to go out and earn a living in the private sector for a change.

If they can.

Gay Community Should Arm Itself

When seconds count, the police are minutes away.

And President Obama anxiously awaits his next anti-gun press conference.

So rather than being a government propaganda tool as a dead person, it would be ok to choose to learn how to defend yourself and avoid the whole political tussle.

When you are a target, and gays have been targets from the beginning of the age of Christianity, then perhaps you would take an interest and responsibility for your own protection because, let’s face it, nobody is in a better position to do it than yourself.

More women are arming themselves than ever before and successfully defending themselves too. Although as a general rule the National Press tend to suppress news of people successfully fighting off attackers and robbers. They wouldn’t want people getting “ideas” that they could actually stop crime when it happens to them.

If someone in the club had a gun on them beside the detailed police officer, who was not enough, then they could have popped this guy Mateen. Preferably, when his back was turned.  It has happened where someone in an establishment under attack had shot the attacker. In fact, this has happened many, many times.

If we were talking about a segment of society that made up 50% percent of the population then we wouldn’t be talking about gays being shunned and attacked as often since only minority populations are targets of discrimination and prejudice. Gays are a minority population and despite the laws passed to protect their rights and freedoms they are still subject to ridicules and violence not experienced by most straight people.

Turning our attention to the shooter, Omar Mateen, a 1st generation American citizen as well as a radicalized Muslim terrorist, his father made a totally bullshit statement about the shooting not being “about religion” since his poor unfortunate son witnessed two men kissing in public and THIS is what drove him to shoot up the gay nightclub. I’m glad he took the time to straightened that out.

Most people aren’t driven to kill upon witnessing such things but the most likely characteristics of those who do seem to be Muslim. The Muslims are attacking people in Europe. Attacking women in Brussels and Munich, attacking women without headscarves in their own country and attacking non-Muslim people everywhere. Muslims are throwing gay people and people just plain suspected of being gay, off of two story buildings with their hands tied behind their backs in Libya, Iran and Pakistan. Gays are being hung in Saudi Arabia. Everywhere in Muslim countries gays are being HUNTED and KILLED.

But this shooting in an Orlando gay club, it’s not about religion. It’s just about killing gay people.

That’s all. We should just understand this.

To clarify a major misconception concerning so called “Assault Rifles”. These are just semi-automatic rifles, a rifle that resets the trigger using a “blow-back” system that was first invented before the Civil War. Today it is a very common device that is in almost every firearm made and legal in every state. To think that these are going to go away regardless of what the Obama regime attempts is naive at best. Whether the gun is displayed in a classic wooden stock or in a rather fierce looking black polymer encasement, it is still the same weapon. Under the Clinton syndicate's Assault Rifle ban back in 1994, the oft-demonized Colt AR-15, with it's lightweight polymer stock and sleek black design was branded an assault weapon while it's wooden-clad competitor, the Ruger Mini-14, was not. Of course the sale of the AR-15s really took off because of the ban and it remains the country's most popular rifle.

When the government media speaks of "Automatic" weapons, they are actually referring to these semi-automatic weapons to purposely mislead the uniformed. Automatic weapons can only legally be possessed by law enforcement and military personnel. Civilians cannot have them legally.

If these guns or even ALL guns were banned in the United States, then they will just come into the country from someplace else. Our borders are unsecured, remember? The same inaction by our present government that allows illegal aliens to enter also allows goods and materials not allowed in this country to come in also. China and Russia among other armament manufacturing countries will find a ready market for their guns here in the U.S.  If we can’t keep drugs out of the country to the point where we are legalizing them, what makes any thinking person think that we can keep guns out?

So the message should be clear: Protect yourselves at all times. If you won't do it, who will?

Will Romney Run?

The rumors of a planned Brokered Convention, or rather, a convention where a candidate is not decided upon during the first ballot and further deliberation and voting is required until a candidate is chosen, is more than likely a story cooked up by the national media since the race for at least the Republican nomination could be over by next Tuesday. What will they have to write about then?

There hasn’t been a brokered convention in the Television Era and there will not be one now. The party conventions only serve these days as a confirmation of the leading candidate after the grueling primary process. It is a jumping off point for the party platform heading into the last step of the presidential race. For someone to “Jump the line” and try to gain the party nomination without busting their ass on the trail and spending all that money and energy will be impossible to pull off today. Visually and politically it will be a disaster.

What group wants to cast further doubt upon the validity of the electoral process when the people who support Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are already wary of the establishment attempting to step in and correct what they have built? Are the primaries something to ignore if the “wrong” candidate is chosen?

Predictability of outcome is not a part of a free and fair election process. If something should happen that makes the people feel their votes have been ignored, only chaos will follow. And if you are a party to such a thing, do you want your name associated with something like that? History is a harsh judge.

I don't believe for a moment that the story is true of Mitt Romney entering the 2016 presidential race at this late stage or of him being offered as a viable candidate in a brokered convention. If people get that the fix is in they will certainly turn on both him and what's left of the Republocrat party.

Plus, if Romney should enter the race at this stage he will be crushed.

The one thing that Mitt Romney will never shake as long as he lives is that HE is the father of ObamaCare.

RomneyCare NEVER ran in the black. It ran deficits right from the beginning and nothing changed except for the name on the program. To cover up the deficits that the Massachusetts exchanges were running, Obama's pal and former governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick used the general highway funds to cover the shortfalls so it looked like it was holding its own. This is why all the roads and bridges in the state are in bad shape and the legislature is always trying to raise the gas tax...again…and again.

ObamaCare, as predicted, is blowing a hole in the nation’s economy. This is why we are stumbling along in the Obama Years and never getting ahead. Any economic gains are offset by growing debt. It's a catastrophe that Mitt will have a difficult time washing his name off of.

Mitt Romney left a terrible legacy for the state of Massachusetts. If he had run again for governor instead of running for president the first chance he got, he would have been in a better position today in the presidential sweepstakes and of more importance he would have kept Deval Patrick out of the governorship. We paid dearly for that move and more has yet to be revealed.

So now Mitt has come out at the behest of the establishment and launched an attack on the leading candidate of, subject to dissagreement, his own party. And it's over something he got hung out to dry on himself in 2012, his tax returns. This is going to endear him to the electorate?

Donald Trump is right, Mitt Romney is a fool!

Romney's political career is one of hurried missteps, hesitating miscalculations and failures to make the correct decision at the correct time.

Mr. Romney, it's over.

Turkey Trots Out Big Lie in Syria

Where are the bodies?

Russia reportedly hits hospitals and schools and kills 50 “civilians in rebel held Northern Syria yet the videos show no bodies! A couple of guys run by the camera with a pile of blankets in a stretcher. Lots of shouting and people digging in destroyed buildings while a voice-over in English describes the destruction.

This is the Big Lie come back into plain site in the warm up to continued intervention into the Syrian Civil war. While earthquake videos always show people being dragged out of crumbled buildings, here in Syria there is no such vision. Not even a snapshot has come out of this with a corpus delicti.

In a war of pictures in the television age, the one thing that would best sway the hearts and minds of the people seems to be missing: Evidence of a Crime.

Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, always a reliable source for truth and justice in this situation since it it Turkey that is supplying arms to the anti-Assad forces, said that Russian missiles hit a “children’s hospital” and that many civilians and children were killed. There’s plenty of footage of the buildings but where are the dead? There is nothing, not a second of footage of bodies anywhere. You know why? Because the only bodies they pulled out of those buildings were SOLDIERS!

Now we’ve all seen the bullshit setups the Palestinians love to film where one minute someone is lying under a concrete slab and the next minute they’re walking around with a crutch. There seems to be a limit to the number of actors these guys can come up with so you’ll have to forgive me for being skeptical having seen the so called “Palestinians” shoot their own people because they were in the presence of a foreign journalists video footage so they could claim that Israeli soldiers did it. The footage was remarkable because it depicted a man and his teenage son caught in the crossfire between the opposing forces and he was shielding his son with his back not to the Israeli forces but to his own supposed protectors because he knew as well as they did he was on camera.

There is little coming out of Syria right now in the form of “News” that I am inclined to believe so one thing I will believe is when I see footage of actually bodies being pulled from the newly minted wreckage. If this existed I am positive that the rebel forces would have had no qualms about showing them to the world. Where is it?

Everybody filmed the Japanese Tsunami in 2011. Everybody filmed the World Trade Center Towers coming down. Nobody got this? No, next week will be too late so if the archivists for ABC, CNN or Reuters are going through old video footage right now, forget it. It won’t fly. It’s all a lie and it’s an Obvious lie given the circumstances of Assad being on the verge of victory. “This cannot stand” say the forces of good in Europe.

Just like the unbelievable stories of gas warfare being reported by the French, again no friend of Russia or Assad, which they attributed exclusively to the Assad regime and yet not proof was ever presented. Surely the accusations of the French, who only hold the best interests of the world in there heart, should be enough to begin more armed conflict in the region. Where is the footage? In an age where everybody is walking around with a God Damned video camera in their shirt pockets, there is no video escaping into the world to document these “atrocities”. And for these accusations, Europe will again look the other way when Turkey is bombing the shit out of the Kurds. But since when have the Kurds gotten anything out of their efforts whether they fight on the side of the U.S. or on the side of Assad. No difference there.

Any excuse will serve a tyrant and here we are with yet another U.S. with Turkey as our puppet to setup an excuse to reign more warfare upon the people of the Middle East just when things are about to be settled. BUT not settled the way we like it.

Good must triumph over evil.

And it ultimately will.

Obama, United Nations Renew Plans for Syrian Intervention

The Setup

First Angela Merkel is trotted out to say she is “Horrified” that there is actually a WAR going on in Syria! She has just now suddenly noticed that people are being killed there. Previously she just wondered why so many Syrians were coming to Germany. Now she seems to have realized why.

Let’s face it, Merkel is under the gun at home right now for her bizarre move to allow Germany to be overrun with unmixable Middle Eastern Visigoths. In part she needs a distraction so now she is shocked, shocked I say, that the fighting in Syria has produced what fighting usually produces: casualties and people on the move.

But is this sudden outrage really just Germany and Turkey acting out of concern for the welfare of the Syrian people?

For one thing, the rhetoric is just insipid: “No one should excuse or show tolerance toward the Russian air attacks that amount to ethnic massacres….” So said Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

Who writes this stuff?

If Merkel and Davutoglu were really so concerned about the people of Aleppo not being massacred, they should be calling for the rebel forces there to surrender but wait, we don't hear them doing THAT. It's either surrender or fight to the death. That has usually been the custom, before the television age anyway.

So since when is trying to win a war an Ethnic Massacre? Yes, Syrians are getting killed, it’s fucking Syria! Who else would they be bombing in Aleppo, Bulgarians? Trying to prove that Russia is bombing Syrians because they are Syrian doesn't fly. They are also helping Syrians, apparently the "bad" Syrians, win the war. Turkey on the other hand, is backing the rebels with arms and other supplies. If they stopped doing THAT less people would be killed.

It's getting harder and harder to find a good guy in all this. In the U.S., we love the Good Guys. It's always good guys vs the bad guys. We get upset when we can't find a good guy.

Now Ms. Merkel blames the Russians for their bombing runs despite the fact they've been doing this for five months. Can it be that her outrage and calls for the siege to be ended is really only due to the Assad forces being on the verge of final victory? This is an ominous sign.

There is no love lost between Turkey and Russia we know plus president Obama and the U.S. State Department will stop at nothing to undermine an Assad victory. It is beginning to look like they will go to their long standing trump card, the United Nations, for yet another attempt at legitimacy via coalition for their interventionist actions. But the United States is too far away and things appear to be too far along for this to actually work.

The Syrian Civil War has gone badly for president Obama and the United States.

 http://freedominanunfreeworld.blogspot.com/2015/09/united-states-of-obama-on-wrong-side-of.html

The Billions of dollars in arms that were “walked” into the country by the United States with the blessing and support of Saudi Arabia for ISIL to mount an offensive on the side of the anti-Assad rebels have not been enough to alter the inevitable outcome. In fact, the ISIL forces were so uncontrollably fanatical that they were attacking the rebels too and forcing them to fight on two fronts. Hardly a dependable alliance.

Iran and Hezbollah have also been instrumental in turning the tide for Assad forces to the point now that even the meager amount of ground troops that Saudi Arabia plans to send into the country will not be enough to stop them. Let’s hope the Saudis stick to fighting ISIL like they have stated publicly and do not draw themselves into bigger troubles than they have already.

A freshly funded post-embargo Iran poses a bigger threat than ever to the Saudi effort to take over Syria. Iran is now better positioned to fund a military contingent on a larger scale than they have in Syria now as well as landing an economic blow on the Arab Kingdom by entering the glutted oil market and continuing to drive the price of oil into the ground since 80% of their Gross National Product is based on oil. The Saudis have already been put under a great deal of pressure by the American fracking industry which produces oil at a competitive profit margin compared to what comes from overseas. There is also the added threat that if oil prices should jump, much of the dormant fracking installations could be brought back on-line quickly.

Enter the UN

So a propaganda war to get a multi-national “peace” force to enter the fray will have to do.

This is why the United Nations has suddenly put forth a “report” that detainees by Assad forces are being “systematically” executed and that Prime Minister Davutoglu says that the rebel stronghold of Aleppo “is de facto under siege” and that “We are on the verge of a new human tragedy.” Perhaps he was referring to the “old” human tragedy of how Turkish soldiers have been killing the Kurds for as long as anyone can remember.

Nope, having the German and Turkish Prime Ministers dance like puppets on a string is just too neatly cued. These moves are a renewed and orchestrated attempt to keep Russia and Assad from final victory by either more direct armed intervention or the threat of an “International” Tribunal for War Crimes.  There are no more people left to arm so that’s out.

Will they try to indict Vladimir Putin? Have they even indicted Bashir Assad? Whatever they come up with you can be sure it will be ineffectual and all for show since the UN has never helped anybody but themselves in the long run and if they try to interfere and extend the war in Syria, even more people will die.

It always happens with the UN. They intervene, prolong the conflict and more people get killed than would have happened if one side actually won the fight. Look at the job they’ve done in Bosnia. They’ve kept that one going since 1995.

The United Nations should keep to just warning North Korea that they better not shoot off another “Satellite” or NEXT TIME they will be in REAL trouble.  This will be your LAST warning, you hear me?!!

Heaven forbid anyone should actually win a war any more. War isn’t supposed to be fair. It’s intense, brutal, kills people and destroys things. Destruction does not build a people, a nation or an economy. It only lays waste to resources, countrysides and human destiny.

That’s why we should think before we get involved in armed conflict. It's been all too easy when we remove the human element and the national sacrifice from warfare. If we couldn't do that then we wouldn’t have them but then again, the United States leads the world in war. We are the best since we've had the most practice.

It's a terrible deal these people have gotten and as an American citizen disconnected from the people who call the shots, I feel powerless in the winds of the political forces at play but there really isn’t too much to choose from in this Lose/Lose game of a Syrian Conflict.

On one side we have Bashir Assad, a person where no truth will ever describe any longer since he has fallen out of favor with the forces of the United States. Is he a brutal dictator? He’s pretty brutal right now and he certainly hasn't pulled any punches when it comes to keeping control of his country from the many outside influences. And did he really use poison gas? Although it is constantly talked about as a given in the U.S. Propaganda machine that passes for the National Press, it has not been proven.

http://freedominanunfreeworld.blogspot.com/2013/09/un-indisputably-partisan-in-syria-report.html

It has been reported however that the rebels used gas and that so did ISIL. The truth may lie somewhere in between. Call it the Fog of War.

On the OTHER side of this equation is ISIL.  A group that cannot be governed, a group who it has been proven will send a 12 year old boy into a marketplace filled with civilians with a suicide vest on. A group that has cut off the heads of perhaps thousands of people who don’t worship Allah the way they do. A group that has “martyred” many outside recruits whose only mistake was wanting to join them. A group that has vowed to take over not only the Middle East but Europe and the United States as well. THIS is the group Barak Obama has chosen to back in the overthrow of Assad.

There are bad people in this world and there are WORSE people.

You pick one.

Obama Terrorist Relocation Program Hits Snag

Instead of sending Syrian terrorists to Gitmo, President Barack Obama has decided to instead send them to major cities across the country. One such example is: Springfield, Massachusetts.

Having spent some time in Springfield, MA, I’d say these people may yet prefer to go to Gitmo.

But living in the nations worst areas will afford our new arrivals ample cover to foment their next moves to fulfill their ultimate ambitions: Bending the United States to their will.

The Obama “seeding” program is sending North African terrorist cells to all the major bad neighborhoods in the country: Baltimore, Maryland, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Oakland, California, Chicago, Illinois, Hartford, Connecticut etc. These places are already welfare havens and dangerous hell holes both complete with daily shootings, rampant drug use, few services, fewer retail stores and bad, bad, bad schools.

But our Syrian “friends” are not here to go to school or to work.

Rather than work at the local Walmart as greeter and saying "Welcome to Walmart" to all who enter, Allie Ben Mohammed would more likely want to blow himself up there. And Mohammed Upyor Whazoo, rather than ask you if “you want fries with that?” at the neighborhood McDonalds, would probably prefer to spray the lobby with bullets while shouting “Allahu Akbar” Because, let’s face it, that’s what they’re really here for.

But perhaps I’m mistaken. Perhaps I’m just buying into the mass hysteria that is sweeping the world and maybe, just maybe, the President is right, that these Migrants are no more dangerous than Tourists.

But it is coming to light that these "tourists" are being caught at the U.S. border and in neighboring countries with weapons and fake passports. Also those "widows and orphans", as the president has casually described them, seem to be armed to the teeth! Even the most died-in-the-wool American Liberal voter has got to wonder if something just doesn't seem right about Obama's plan for a re-engineered American society.

It should now be well known that the Tsarnaev brothers, aka: the Boston Marathon Bombers, were given every luxury at the expense of the American Taxpayer. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was given the opportunity of a free Dartmouth College education. It costs $24,210.00 a year with room and board to go to Umass Dartmouth as a Massachusetts resident. It’ costs $28,370.00 if you live in New England and $37,795.00 if you live out of state. Most of the students who go there are paying full freight. For Dzhokhar that meant $96,840.00 without the cost of books all for “free”.

But he wasn’t here to be a student.

Recently President Obama challenged his critics openly. He was heard to say: “I've heard that some folks just don’t want these killers, I mean, peaceful migrants, in their neighborhoods. Well boo-hoo to you too!” On his way out the door, Mr. Obama was heard to say; "See ya, see ya, wouldn't wanna be ya!"

Our imperial president has held firm to his conviction of distributing terror cells evenly across America’s once fruited plain so as to get the full effect of their radical beliefs. That’s part of the plan.
We should dispel once and for all that the president is making “mistakes” and is “fumbling” when it comes to importing these non-functioning illiterates and fanatical Muslim jihadists into the United States. We should all undergo the process of realization that THIS was the plan all along. That THIS is no mistake.

President Obama’s actions are becoming increasingly bizarre. As if he’s running out of time to get as much of his evil plans executed before he reaches either the end of his term or the American people reach the end of their patience.

Even his own zombie hordes we refer to as the Democratic National Committee are starting to grow uncomfortable since its really starting to dawn on them that their exalted leader has “that look in his eye” that tells them that they too are expendable. Welcome to what most of us rational people already knew. Who but only the most convicted and dedicated anarchists would continue following Obama and guarantee their own demise?

Can Congress finally step up, do what they were supposed to do all along and put a stop to this?

It time we find out.

Carly Fiorina's Foreign Attitude

Carly Fiorina looks at the world and see enemies, adversaries and opponents. Her campaign rhetoric on the “threat to America” that Russia poses at this point in time is just so off base.

In a one-woman campaign to revive the Cold War, Carly Fiorina views our old nemesis Russia as an enemy in the war for renewed American world dominance. In the past, the influence of the United States in the world was based upon the freedoms its citizens enjoyed and the right to pursue their dreams and because of that, great wealth was created. New products and breakthroughs in communications, industry and social and spiritual thought were sprung by the resulting freedom of choice to pursue what each person wished for themselves. This drew the envy of the world.

But when our governing parties decided to force ourselves and our way of thinking onto other nations was where our nation got off the rails.

Our military excursions into Asia were rebuffed by China from the 1950s to the 1970s so we never got militarily what we could have achieved economically in that part of the world and only strengthened the hand of the Communists to boot. China’s attitude towards the United States remains one of distrust and we have given them plenty of reason.

Russia also has had a history of Western “influence” when a multinational force made up of French, British, Canadian, American and Australian troops came into the Russian Civil War on the side of the Whites in the Bolshevik Revolution of 1918. They didn’t win but served as the fodder of the “Enemy Without” paranoia so crucial in keeping dictators in power.

And we wonder why these people distrust the United States?

But time, communication, commerce and the free market have a way of changing the attitudes of former adversaries if we allow this to take place. In the years since 9/11 the United States has lost some steam but has gained some equilibrium with some of our most powerful trading partners. China has emerged as a powerful entity even though they are an angry regime looking to take out a century of angst on somebody.

Russia too has seen its setbacks from the collapse of their Communist Government to their struggles with control over Ukraine and the Muslim expansion on their doorstep of which we here in the United States only are grimly seeing more of with the advancement of Internet media.

Enter Carly Fiorina, the former Hewlett Packard Chief Operating Officer who, from all her talk of adversaries in the world, shows that she will do nothing to bring our commonalities to light but will only continue to highlight the differences between us.

The one BIG difference is Bashar Assad.  The current policy of the United States under President Barack Obama holds the view that Assad as The Devil. Republican Candidate for the presidency Carly Fiorina shares that view. This stuff is just so out of place right now since we as a nation have much bigger fish to fry and yet the focus remains on Russia? I just don’t get it.

Growing up, we all learned that Russia was America’s adversary and our biggest challenge in the world. They weren’t like us, they didn't like us and they only wished to dominate the world and that may have been true then but at the same time, so did WE.

Little have we in the West ever cared for the nuances of the big, wide world we live in. First, there are really BAD people in the world and Second, there are WORSE people in the world.

How dare the Russian government look out for their own interests in the region! How dare Bashar Assad fight to save his neck? How dare THEY defy the United States right, half a world away, to determine what goes on in their countries and the countries they share borders with?! Until something happens to Assad, he’s still in charge of Syria. He was there first. Just because the United States, whose actions and complicity in the overthrow of established governments in North Africa these past decades have even violated our own Constitution, says it should be so does not mean it should be so.

And all that support money and armaments we sent to Assad over the years? Oh, well, just forget about that stuff...hey, look, I think I just saw him gas a few civilians! Nothing to see here folks, move along. Just like Saddam Hussein, he was our guy until he wasn't our guy.  Once you decide you don't want to dance to our tune, that's it for you.

It has been our own bone-headed interventions that have gotten us to where we are today and there is nobody else to blame but our own shiftless leadership. This must change or we as a country will not stand.

So when I hear Ms. Fiorina coming out sounding like an old Cold War “error” politician, I cringe.
Declaring countries as enemies right out of the gate and seeing Communists in her cornflakes isn’t going to get the United States back to the forefront of freedom and free trade. It was just this sort of wrong thinking that got us to where we are right now and the sooner we face up to it, the sooner we can rectify it.

We don’t need a return to an adversarial past of us versus them, we need a way to acknowledge, respect and negotiate with the other powerful and long established civilizations in this day and age who, like us, are struggling with the same issues of keeping people employed, fed and free of worry of attack so that they can pursue, as best they can, the things they want to do in life. It doesn’t always work out but to have opportunity is the yearning of those of us who want to live in this world now and worry about the next one when we get there. Many of us want the same things in life.

Russia, China and the United States share many of the same issues right now especially the very present enemy at our gates some of whom think that dying is better than living and others who think the world owes them a living.

The LAST THING we need, Ms. Fiorina, is to think of each other as adversaries or enemies.

Just the opposite is needed at this time.

U.S. Self-Defeat in Middle East

There is no doubt about the lost confidence of the United States in the Middle East.

It is a failure on so many levels: A failure of arms, a failure of coordination but above all, a failure of diplomacy.

Think about it. Before there was a Russian ship in the harbor, before there was a Russian boot on the ground, Putin’s diplomatic core had already secured the blessings of Iran and Iraq. In order to shoot dozens of missiles over 1000 miles to their intended targets in Syria, they had to have it. There could be no large scale strategic planning without knowing if these countries would cooperate. This wasn’t done overnight. How Russia impressed Iran, a country that trusts NO ONE, to participate even a little is a feat in itself.

On the U.S. side of things we have Secretary of State John Kerry, a legend in his own mind, willing do to whatever it takes to see his name live forever in the annals of U.S. diplomacy. Oh, and it will. What a difference it makes to have the right man in the right job. I'd easily trade Kerry for Sergey Lavrov's understudy any day of the week.

This isn’t a game to Russia. War to them is still serious business and not a business unto itself like it is in the United States. To us, it’s all about the money war generates. To Russia, it’s still about WINNING and it's about holding onto their civilization which stands to be overrun if they don't do something. That's the difference. Russia is on the front and we in the U.S. are WAY over here across the Atlantic Ocean playing on our iPhones and texting while driving.

So 14 years after the United States dropped its first Daisy Cutter way back in October 2001 we still have little to show for the effort except thousands of soldiers dead and irreparably wounded and a vast amount of uncounted debt. Nobody really likes us and nobody’s minds have been changed as to our continued presence in the region beyond the collaborators who will be thrown off a three story building if we leave and don’t’ take them with us.

A prime example of what the U.S. war in Afghanistan was all about was the first battle of Fallujah in 2003. Fallujah was surrounded by U.S. forces. Rather than leaflet the place and then level it in spectacular fashion, which would be an example of the U.S. trying to win an “Ugly War”, George W. Bush instead decided to have our troops fight door-to-door in a massively costly manner in time, money and human loss. In other words, for either political or monetary reasons, he wasted our resources namely the best and brightest that the United States could produce, our soldiers. The object was a more “Humane” war of some sort but it wasn’t humane and, as time has proven, not effective either.

Libertarianism and War

Libertarianism is not an Anti-War platform. If there is going to be a war, say if the United States is directly attacked, a country that we have an alliance with is directly attacked or if U.S. interests like our shipping or invited businesses overseas are under attack, we are going to fight to defend ourselves and our commercial interests.  If there is to be a war, it should be swift, total and have a total commitment to its successful conclusion. There should be a beginning and an end. We don’t fight wars to win them anymore and it shows poorly. War can only be an ugly affair of last resort, one that destroys and makes people lose the will to continue. One side must win and one side must LOSE. Without this, nothing changes.

Our leaders have squandered the good will of the American people by carrying on their endless wars for interests other than national defense. They have made America war weary, indebted and have contributed to a loss of national stature in the world.

We should only pull the sword when we are prepared to dispatch an antagonist quickly, humanly and decisively so that they will hesitate to confront us again. We ignored this principle at our own peril.

And here we are.

Libya Bites Obama in the Ass

By intervening in the Libyan Civil War on the side of the opposition, the United States has lost all moral high-ground when it comes to criticism of Russia in Syria.  Once there is an intervention, there is not much difference whether it’s in support of the opposition or the established government. The difference is that if Assad’s regime survives, it will be more stable than if the fractional and diametrically opposed opposition should prevail. If Assad should fall; only long years of fighting and dying lay ahead for Syria and the people who wish to control it.

Assad is the “Devil We Know”. He is also the Devil Russia Knows and they will hold onto their port in the Caspian Sea only with Assad in power.

So what can the Obama Regime really say about all this? It was Obama who played God in Libya so to say Russia is wrong in Syria is laughable at best.

NATO Loses Perspective

With its spectacularly stupid tirade and threats to “defend” their allies in regards to Russia’s “violation” of Turkish airspace either real or imagined, NATO puts itself in opposition to a real solution in Syria. What NATO should be doing is fighting ISIL in the region and not Russia.  Get in the game and on the right side of the conflict and leave the saber rattling to the U.N.  Are we in a fight for the preservation of civilization or are we not? Get serious will you?

The Unreliable United States

How can any nation trust what the U.S. is going to do now? Who are we going to back? Who are we going to shoot? Nobody knows.

We have ignored the history or the Russia/Syria relationship. We have brushed aside Russia's concern with their own national defense. We have just gone on like we are the only people that matter in the region even thought we have no vested interest there. None. What U.S. interest are we protecting? Hmm? We're only there because we had an axe to grind 14 years ago! What the United States is right now is a disinterested third party. And it shows.

There is no consistency in policy, hell, there is no policy. It’s one improvisation after another. The U.S. has demonstrated no leadership and is now attempting to play catch up and thereby making even bigger mistakes in an effort to stay relevant in the region. Witness the Doctors without Borders bombing. One can picture a hastily called Whitehouse meeting in which the military was urged to do something decisive quickly.

And they did.

There is no one currently in the U.S. government to look towards that inspires confidence in their word or decisiveness in their actions. We are a ship without a rudder.

The U.S. should recognize the changing political landscape in the Middle East, step back a bit to avoid any more missteps and attempt to function as a cooperative force. All the pouting and distracting criticism of Russian actions only looks like sour grapes.

Russia's bad, we get it, now what?

If the United States cannot get past its political agenda long enough to be relevant to a mutual determination of what a successful solution in the region should be, we should just get the fuck out of there.

Isn't this what diplomacy is supposed to be for?
